-Lilly's Point of View-

I walked out of Ashton's hospital room, wondering how I should feel about this. I had plans to meet up with Iris and Armoni so I had to hurry to my car.

"Lilly." Michael called.

"Yeah?"

I don't know if I should be mad at him or not so I pretended it was an accident.

"About punching Ash? I, uh, didn't- well um-"

"It's okay." I interrupted.

"I know he made you mad and you lost it. It was just self defense."

He looked at me with those green eyes. They matched the color of his hair. I gave Michael a long hug to make him feel less guilty about punching Ash.

"Thanks." He said.

I pulled away.

"I have to go. Text me, okay?"

"Okay."

My phone vibrated as a text from Alex came up.

Come over to my place at 9

I replied with 'Ok xx'.

I could see Armoni and Iris waiting for me at the entrance of the mall. We had agreed on a girl's day out.

"Iris! Oh my god it's been forever!" I yelled as I ran over for a hug.

"Yeah it's been way too long." She answered.

Armoni looked like she was hiding something, but I didn't know what.

"You okay, Armoni?" I asked her.

"Not really."

Me and Iris gave each other worried looks as she was staring at the ground.

"C'mon. Let's start shopping."

Later on we found out that Armoni and Reece had broken up. Reece was moving halfway across the country for college. She didn't take it so well.

I drove up to Alex's house at 9:23.

23 minutes late.

I knocked on the door.

"Hey! Come in." He said, and opened the door to welcome me in.

There was a candle lit and I just knew what the scent was.

Vanilla

Dammit. That was Ash's favorite scent.

"So what do you have planned for tonight?" I asked, trying to forget about the candle.

"Well I thought we could watch something on Netflix. I don't know what after that."

"Oh, cool."

One of my favorite kinds of dates was just staying at home watching Netflix all night. It made me feel cozy, and I just love it. Alex knew that and wanted to make it special I guess.

He went into the kitchen to get a snack for us, when I noticed how the candle stayed lit. I mean, yeah it stays lot because it's a candle, but it reminded me if Ashton. Ashton was like the candle. He's been trying to win me back, staying lit, never letting go. He's the candle and I'm the wind. Trying to blow the flame out. Trying to forget, let go.

"So since I know you love caramel popcorn, I made some for us to eat while we watch."

Alex was such a sweetheart. Like Michael.
