Chapter 3

They reached their respective houses. Naira saw the time. It was 6:30 pm. She thought of sleeping for two hour since her night shift starts from 9:00 pm.

Kartik was getting restless.. he could not sit at one place nor he can do something.. he kept roaming in his room and all the time he was just thinking about Naira.. how did she manage all these.. she is suffering so much.. he just wanted to help her in anyway possible..

Kartik kept thinking all this from past two hours.. when he could not take it any more he thought of calling up Naira to ask her wether she is okay or not.. the way she broke down.. he was so tensed..

Naira's phone rings.. she picks it up in a sleepy and tired voice..

Naira : Hello..

Kartik : Hello.. umm.. you sound sleepy.. so rahi thi kya??

Naira : Haan woh actually aake thoda so gayi........ Oh no!!

Kartik : Kya hua??

Naira : Kartik!! Kartik time kitna ho raha hain abhi??

Kartik : Why are you panicking so much.. it's 8:40 now..

Naira : Thank you Kartik thank you so much.. aapne mujhe bula diya nahi to aaj main pakka late ho jati..

Kartik : Late ho jati.. par jana kaha Hain..??

Naira : Call center aur Kahan..

Kartik : Call center?? Arrey ruko ruko matlab aap night shift karti ho.. yeh to aapne bataya hi nahi.. main bhi kitna buddhu hu.. night shift nahi to aur kab karengi.. morning mein to aapka college rahta Hain..

Naira : Hmm.. leave all this and tell me aapne mujhe call kyun kia tha..

Kartik : I wanted to know ki you are okay or not.. coffee shop mein jo bhi uss ke baad...

Naira : Aap to rahne hi dijiye.. aapne to kuch kaha bhi nahi.. mujhe bura laga thik Hain..

Kartik : Arrey woh ac..tu..ally..

Naira : Rahne dijiye.. abhi excuse banake koi fayda nahi..

Kartik : Excuse nahi bana raha hu main.. ok fine issko lekar hum baad mein jhagra karenge.. time dekha Hain aapne 8:50 ho gaya.. we kept talking..

Naira : Hahaha!! Main to ready bhi ho gayi.. aapse baatein karte karte ... Speaker pe daala hua tha..

Kartik : Waah!! Multitalented.. waise woh area.. wahan to bahut risk Hain.. humein aksar wahan se complaints aate rahte hain

Naira : Haan.. bahar thoda risk to hain.. par ek baar call center andar jaane ke baad no risk.. itna chinta mat kijiye.. I am habituated to all this now..

Kartik : Haan pata hain par phir bhi aaj late ho gaya hain na to... Ek kaam karta hun.. I will come and drop you there.. bike mein jaldi ho jayega..

Naira : So sweet of you.. lekin main abhi nikal chuki Hun.. thoda pahunchne mein late ho jayega.. but it's okay.. you chill..

Kartik : Chill!! Tum wahan par aise.. main kaise chill karu...

He realized what he said..

Kartik : Nahi matlab woh..

Naira : Accha Kartik abhi aap phone rakho.. kuch sunayi nhi de raha.. will call you up tomorrow.. bye..

Kartik : Bye..

He hung up the call..

He felt good thinking about the long conversation session they had.. but he was tensed for her as well..
