Chapter 11

Naira slowly opened her eyes.. she felt her head a bit heavy due to yesterday's tiredness.. she kept staring at the ceiling fan moving for few seconds until she remembered something and suddenly sat on the bed straight.. only a word escaped from her mouth..

Naira : Kartik

Naira started remembering everything that happened yesterday night.. she went out of her room to find Kartik sleeping on the couch.. he went to him.. kept her hand on his shoulder and started calling him..

Naira : Kartik.. Kartik..

No response..

Naira (a bit louder) : Kartik..

Kartik (still in sleep) : Hmmmm..

Then he suddenly opened his eyes.. Naira was in front of him.. he almost  spranged from the couch..

Kartik : Haan haan Naira.. uhh.. tumhe kuch chahiye Kya.. accha ruko paani lata hu..

He tried to assemble himself since he just got up from the sleep..

Kartik was going to bring the water from the table..

Naira : Ruko Kartik..

Kartik turned around..

Naira (seriousness in her voice) : Kal kya hua tha Kartik ??

Kartik : Kal??

Naira : Haan kal.. kya hua tha kal??

Kartik felt the depth in her voice and he knew it's not going to be easy to make her understand but at the same time he thought what exactly to make her understand when he himself didn't understood what happened yesterday night and he was guilty for that..

Naira : I guess I asked you something.. I am waiting for you to speak..

Kartik : Woh.. woh ac.. actually kal raat ko.. tum ro rahi thi bahut.. matlab bahut ro rahi thi jo bhi tumne dekha uske baad.. aur itna ro rahi thi ki.. ki..

Naira was now really getting pissed off.. the more he fumbled with his words the more anger started taking over her..

Naira (yelling) : Come to the point damn it!! Just come to the point.. you very well know what I am asking about..

Kartik was shocked seeing her like this.. he kept staring at her and thought of what to react next..

Naira (shouting): Now speeeeeeeeeakkk..

Kartik : Uhh.. mujhe samajh mein nahi aaya kya karna hai and.. and I.. I.. I.. just..

Naira : Just.. kissed me.. right..??

They were staring at each other..

Naira : Am I right Mr. Goenka??

He somehow nodded his head in a yes.. his eyes looking down.. he knew he was at fault..

She sat down on the couch.. covered her face with her palm..

He kept standing there looking at her.. he knew he needs to apologise..

Kartik : Naira.. Naira I am really sorry for whatever happened.. trust me mera koi galat intension nahi tha.. tum.. tum itna ro rahi thi ki mujhe kuch samajh mein nahi aaya.. Naira I am really sorry..

Saying this he sat beside her and was going to hold her by her shoulder when she understood and gave an unexpected reaction..

Naira : Don't touch me Kartik..

Kartik got literally shocked by this statement of hers.. okay he did not expeced this coming..

Kartik (shocked) : Naira!!

Naira got up and yelled at him..

Naira : Don't you dare touch me Kartik..

Kartik also got up..

Kartik : Yeh kya bol rahi ho Naira..

Naira (mockingly):  Kya bol rahi hu samajh me nahi aa raha.. haan haan.. haan right kaise samajh mein aayega .. yeh to kuch  hua hi nhi. It's not a big deal.. everything is bloody normal for you.. right.. tum ladko ke liye to yeh sab bahut normal hai.. vaah Kartik vaah.. (clapping her hands).. wow.. Kya excuse lagaya hai.. Kya kaha tumne..  haan.. main ro rahi thi aur tumhe samajh nahi aaya kaise rokna hai.. to tumne kiss Kar liya.. accha bahana hai..matlab koi bhi ladki royegi to bass usse jaake kiss karlo.. and she stops crying.. wow!! Now you know the trick

Listening to reference of any other girl he couldn't take it anymore.. he actually prepared himself to listen all this all night but this one he could not take.. she was not any other random girl for him so he cut her..

Kartik : Please Naira.. don't say that.. please.. what do you mean by koi bhi ladki.. it's only you..main kyun koi aur ladki ko aise.. how can you even think of that.. main unka lagta kya hu..

Naira widened her eyes and was going to ask him something when he stopped her..

Kartik : Ek minute.. tumne kuch kaha.. ab mujhe unka jawab dene do please.. phir tum sawal karna uska bhi main jawab de dunga.. I know ki koi bhi justification is not enough to justify what I did.. but I need to speak.. I need to put my heart right in front of you..

And he started answering her..

Hum ladko ke liye bhi yeh normal nahi hai Jo bhi hua.. do chaar ladko ke liye.. okay fine do chaar nahi bahut saare .. but sab nahi Naira.. you can't.. you just can't held every one of us responsible for everything bad happening out there.. hum sab aise nahi hai.. aur main.. tumne soch liya main tumhare saath kuch galat karta.. kaise soch liya Naira.. itne din se hum saath hai.. hum jaante hai ek dusre ko.. aur tum yeh.. hum ladko ke bhi feelings hai Naira.. we also get hurt.. and I am guilty of what I did..

And Naira jo bhi maine kaha woh sach kaha.. koi bhi bahana nahi tha.. (his voice started choking).. tum.. tum bahut ro rahi thi.. woh bhi bahut time se.. I tried stopping you .. I hugged you.. I .. i.. tried speaking to you but you just did not listen and kept crying.. you would have fallen ill if I just did not do anything.. mai tumhe bimaar nahi padhne de sakta tha..

Aur koi bhi ladki nahi Naira.. you are different.. you are special to me.. you are the most important to me.. to yahan pe koi bhi ladki kahan se aati hai Naira..

He stopped talking.. perhaps he knew if he continued any more his tears will start falling down from his eyes.. Naira was all teary eyed too listening to him.... looking at him she managed to ask him what she wanted..

Naira : Kyun??

Kartik looked at her questioningly not getting what exactly she is asking..

Naira : Kyun?? Why it's only me?? Why not someone else?? Why am I different to you?? Why am I special?? Why am i the most important??
