PLEASE READ: This is just a mini chapter since I haven't published in a while. It's really short, I'm sorry but I had a lot of tests and they're almost ending, so I'll be back in publishing more often soon!

Clary's POV
I wake up confused. I look aroung and I'm on my bed, in my bedroom. I remember falling asleep on my couch, what happened?
I get out of bed and open my bedroom door. I can smell some food so I decide to follow that smell.
I enter the kitchen. Jace is there, probably cooking something.
"I didn't know you could cook." I say smiling.
"I had to learn since I was alone most of the time." He says.
Wait, he has told me this before! In high school, I remember.
"How did I end up in my bedroom? And do you really remember?" I ask.
"You fell asleep on the couch and I decided to take you to your bedroom and sleep on the couch." He says and pauses. "And I never forgot."
"What? All this time, you made me think you forgot?!" I almost yell.
"No. Haven't you figured it out?" He says and looks at me for the first time since I had arrived there.
"Figured what?" I ask really confused.
"Most of this conversation happened in high school. Hell, most of this stuff happened in high school! I spend my birthday alone every year and you found me once. You told me your dream was to go to Italy. You love art and you always wanted an art gallery. Don't you think it's weird everything you want for you and for everyone is happening?" He says.
"What are you saying?" I ask.
"Clary, this is not real. None of this is real. I left for college and you were devastated. You wish I'd come back but I never did. It would be easier for you to move on if I didn't remember you and was with someone else." Jace says.
"What?" I try to say but it comes out as a whisper.
"You need to wake up, Clary."
That's the last thing I hear Jace say before it all goes black.

Wake up from what? What happened to Clary? What was Jace saying? Was all this just a dream? Is Jace really gone?
