"Poor me another one." The golden haired told the bartender. He has been there for a while now, couple hours actually. And he had been drinking quite a lot. The bartender fills the cup with more of the brown liquor - the whisky Jace always drank at that bar. Well, he hadn't been going there for long, he'd only been in LA for 3 months, but that bar was nearby and the bartender always knew what he wanted - the same old whisky.
"How can a simple girl have this much effect on you, Jace Herondale?" The boy asked himself. He was thinking outloud and he didn't care who heard him. No one really did care since the bar was empty. it was just Jace and the bartender who had been pouring Jace's drink ever since he arrived. The boy sighed, drinking one more sip of his drink. He looked at his phone, thinking about wether to call her or not. He finished his drink and dialed her phone number.
"You know, if she had this much effect on you, you should call her." The bartender told the boy. Those were the first words he told him besides "What would you like yo drink?" and those things he had to ask because of his job.
The boy looked at the bartender. He had a tag with his name on it - Joe. "I don't know, Joe. I left her and I'm sure she doesn't want to talk to me."
"There's nothing wrong in calling. Is she from here?" The bartender - Joe - asked.
"No, she's from New York. I used to be from there, I just came here for college." Jace shrugged. He wanted to call her but he didn't even know she'd pick up.
"Well, if it doesn't work, you don't even have to see her again." Joe said. Jace knew he was right.
He called her number and put it on speaker, leaving his phone next to Joe so if he had second choices and wanted to hang up Joe would stop it. The phone rang and rang and rang until they heard a voice - her voice.
"Hey! This is Clary, I'm busy right now but try calling later or leave a message after the signal." They heard a "beep" to leave a message but Jace hung up.
"Maybe try calling in the morning, I'm pretty sure it's late in New York at this time." Joe said. He was right, Clary was probably just sleeping. I mean, she had just woken up from a coma, she had to rest.
"You're right." Jace told Joe. "Thanks for the help." He said and paid him before leaving. He went outside and walked back to his apartment.
He opened the door there to see what surprised him - Kaelie in one of his shirts, walking around his apartment. Not that it had never happened before but he had completely forgot about her presence there.
"I missed you." The girl told the boy, before going over to him and kissing him. He didn't stop her. His night had been really shitty and he could use some fun - he though. And it wasn't like they weren't doing it before so it would be like they never got interrupted by Thomas's phone call. So, the couple went to Jace's room and continued what they had been doing.
Meanwhile, Clary had to stay in the hospital that day for the doctors to see if everything was alright and - hopefully - she could go back home in the morning. She had been sleeping but she woke up in the middle of the night - the hospital beds were not that comfortable, or comfortable at all. She looked at the side and saw a chair with one of her best friends - Tommy -sleeping in it. Poor thing, he's probably not comfortable at all - she though to herself but she still smiled at the fact that he was there with her. She had heard him call Jace but she didn't know what Jace said. He probably didn't want to see her.
The red haired stayed awake for a couple of hours, wondering what happened on that phone call. Thomas looked annoyed. Was it something Jace had said? She wishes she could have heard the other side of the conversation. But it was better this way. That only meant Jace didn't want to see her or talk to her and she didn't care because she had to move on anyway. Should I call him? She shook her head to forget these thought and looked at her phone. It was pretty late. She yawned. I should go to sleep - she thought. She left her phone on the nightstand and closed her eyes, falling asleep in a few minutes.
After that her phone started ringing but it was on silent. A name - Jace Herondale - showed up on her screen and a photo of the same golden haired guy to which that name belonged to showed up. Too bad she was asleep.
