I wake up to Newt right above me. "Ahh!" I yell, falling off my hammock with a thump. Newt starts laughing, and that wakes everyone up. "Gee thanks for the alarm clock Newt!" I hear Minho say, slugging Thomas until he wakes up. "Miiinhoooo!" Thomas whines as he wakes up. I smile, looking at Thomas roll onto the floor. "Sooo, you get to skip the Baggers, since we know ya won't stand it, so today you'll be with Frypan in the kitchen. Also, if ya wanna request anything, put it in the box today. Kay? Off ya go!" He pecks me on the cheek and nudges me off to the kitchen. As I walk away, I hear multiple boys saying, "Ooooooh," or "Thomas and Billie sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G!"
When I get to the kitchen, Frypan greets me with a cooking pan, olive oil, and bacon. I go to the stove, turning it on. I slap the bacon into the pan and fry them with salt and pepper. Frypan and I cook up a breakfast of bacon and eggs on toast and serve them to the groggy gladers. Finally, I get my breakfast and go eat with Newtie, Minho, and Thomas. "Any news on that girl yet?" I ask, sitting down. Newt shakes his head, saying, "We did find out that the girls got a boy with the same note. He is conscious though." I nod, shoving my breakfast into my mouth as fast as I can. "I have to help Frypan clean up, and then I'm gonna help Chuck clean around the Glade," I tell Newt, standing up to clear my plate. "Mkay. This is delicious Bee," Newt says with his mouth full. I smile and walk to the kitchen.
After I'm finished cleaning the dishes, I go to Chuck to try to help. We clean the bathrooms and then go to the deadheads just to hang out. We share sandwiches, and talk about random stuff, like food, and trees. Thomas joins us after a little because Minho allowed him to take a day off of running. Chuck frowns, and the discussion turns serious. "Do you think we have parents? Do you think they care or cared that we were taken from them?" I turn to Chuck, surprised by his sudden depressing thought. "Uh, yeah. Of course, we have parents," I say, turning to Chuck. I suddenly feel like an overprotective older sister. "Yes. I bet they are super upset that you're gone. I bet they cry for you every night." I look over a Chuck and Thomas and see that Chuck is tearing up. Thomas gets a serious look in his eyes, and says, "I promise I'll get you back to your mom, Chuck." I nod, and say, "I promise to Chuckie. I swear."
When we walk out of the Deadheads, Newt runs up to us, a panicked expression on his face. "The girl! She's gone up to the tower, and she won't listen to us. She won't let anyone up there! She keeps on yelling for you two." Thomas and I look at each other, and run over to the tower. The girl looks at us, and stops throwing rocks at the boys below. Thomas and I climb up, and greet the girl. "Hey, whats up?" I ask, sitting next to her. Thomas looks at me, alarmed. "What?" "Oh, hello" I jump, looking around. "Who said that?" "It's me, Teresa! " "What the heck! That's you!" I say, pointing at the girl. "Try it." I focus really hard, and think of what I want to say. "Can you hear me?" I think. "Yes! Get Thomas to try." "I can hear you guys you know." I hear Thomas think. "Can we just talk out loud?" I look at Thomas. "Yeah, it's just cool," I say. "No. I need to tell you a secret. I've triggered the ending. I dunno what that means, but it's not good." I hear shouting, and I look down. "Whats up?!" I yell down. Thomas taps me vigorously, and I turn to him. "What?" He points to his watch. It says 6:00. "Soo, what?" I ask, annoyed. "The doors are still open, Billie. We have no protection from the Grievers."
