10 | Rabbit Hole

Her mornings weren't the same mornings after her incident with Hyungwon a week ago. She couldn't leave the house for the fear of passing by a drunk stranger, she consumed less meals than before, and lost her will to be the Zimmy everyone knew. She left her hair unwashed for the whole week and did not bother leaving her bed as well, Dara advised her to stay at home for as long as she wanted and made her promised that she would be back in her usual self in no time. Zimmy sorted everything out with Hyungwon though, she knows his past stories that triggers his hidden beast and would love to stay away from it. She didn't feel any hatred or anger towards Hyungwon, as contrary to what might others feel. She just felt like she needed time to think and this day, she got up from her bed and washed her hair. She laced up that new shoes she got weeks ago and started her day humming to her favorite tunes. She was ready to take the city as if her own.

She is pressing her nose hard on a book that looked like it was ready to take her inside a new world before her very eyes, and Kihyun was there watching her from a clear distance and she looked like she's having fun with old classic books.

The seven deadly sins have no schedules for today, so Kihyun decided to follow Zimmy's whereabouts. He connected his phone GPS to hers the time she unconsciously left her phone in their car, which means he knows exactly where she's going but she doesn't know about this main vocalists moves. And he doesn't know why he's following her secretly when he can just pretend to bump into her and ask her to tag along.

Of course, being the Kihyun that he is, he won't ask her to tag along. Instead, he would make it look like it's part of her internship.

It has been weeks when he can't get her out of his mind, and he felt the feelings electrifying him when he found out that she was with Hyungwon. He just felt the need to guard her up, and you won't believe the idea how he can't function that day, knowing the Hyungwon was gone and she's looking for him. Kihyun knows how passionate and determined she is, and he even thought that she's really the one who would find his same-age friend. When he opened her gps that day, he knew she was in trouble and even left in the middle of their pre-recording.

Zimmy entered the book shop like she was being pulled inside. The main vocalist sighed in disbelief because that means he can't catch a glimpse on her, unless he also comes inside. He counted to ten, but she is too absorbed in the books that she's not stepping out. He counted to 20 and that was his cue. He runs fingers through his hair and did a minor fix on his coat.

He saw her there, standing in front of a huge rack of books, carefully scanning every single book in there.

What the hell is she doing?

He carefully observes as boys slowly approach her with small notes slipping out of their hands. Kihyun can't help but roll his eyes on them.

Time slowly passes by for him, but it is okay as long as he can see his Shiny. He had enough when the last guy approached her, he couldn't believe his eyes and her smiles and confused look to every guy who approached her. He has a lump on his throat and butterflies are crowding in his stomach.

He finally approached her when the last guy left, he tries his best to give her a smile but he can't help but to narrow his eyes.

"You're really accepting those notes, aren't you?" He said, and he is shocked at how his tune sounded so mad that he had to look away.

She looks at him and gives him a look of confusion, "what are you doing here?" She swallowed the lump in her throat, "for how long have you been here?"

Her question makes his heart falter and he tries to divert his attention to the books. He sees that she's already clutching four books on her arms, and a lot of notes are on her hands left unnoticed. He repeated his question again and again on his mind and wonders if she noticed how it sounds so concerned. Kihyun snatched all the books from her arms but she is too fast to keep the notes the guys gave her. He fumes with her action.

"What the hell are those?" He said, pertaining to the notes.

"I don't know, they gave it to me." She answered and opened one, to her surprise, it contains a contact number and a name. She refuses to believe her eyes and starts to scan the other notes which all have the same informationㅡA contact number and a name.

Kihyun grits his teeth, thinking how dumb she is to even entertain strangers. Didn't her mom told her to never talk to strangers?

"Are you going to buy these books? You're taking forever." He said making his way to the cashier.

She just stands there looking up at another book she may have her interest on. "I can't reach this," she said pointing to the book placed two racks above her head.

The vocalist fumes and shakes his head. Zimmy is in shock when she saw him reaching the book with total ease. He then proceeds to the cashier with the book and pays for everything.

Zimmy, of course don't have the power to stop Kihyun from doing so. The man gives her a scary look when she decides to interfere.

The two are just walking back to Zim's house, the smell of coffee disturbs their noses but ignores it completely. Kihyun has been feeling this sense of duty for so long ever since he realized how weak and naive Zim is. She is too pure and sweet for this world, he thought.

"Thank you for today," she said not knowing what to do because Kihyun's not flinching.

"Are you not going to invite me inside?" He said, "I want to see what kind of house you people live on."

He was shocked to the extent that he has to hit his own arm to wake up and ask himself what is wrong with him and he's been acting like this. Her brow twitched and she gives him a look of confusion, but then catch up and invites him in.

He can feel his lungs burning from all the feelings that he can't recognize. His mind want to get rid of all this because his past was too cruel and painful but the electricity in his heart beats says no.

He gets to the front door, following Zim who is in the kitchen already having a glass of water. He has no idea what is going on in his mind but one thing he knows for sure: kiss her.

He sprints to the kitchen and gives Zimmy a total surprise when he pins her to the counter, smashing his lips against the girl who's been there for him the shortest amount of time but gave him all the light in the world.
