Stars in the night,
Luminescent, bright.
Gems sparkling among their kind,
Gentle and distant,
Fascinating the mind.
For all we see,
There are countless we don't.
And 'til they come upon us,
We won't.
Fiery battlegrounds
Of rage and grace
They twinkle in the eyes
Of a hopeful face.
Never too far
Are we from a star.
