"Kaitlyn, I will throw my freakin oxygen tank threw your patio doors if you don't open this front door!" Hazel yelled, beating the crap out of the door.
I sat in the minivan because, well, I couldn't face standing on my avoiding girlfriends front door, demanding answers.
It just wasn't me.
Then I heard the screams.
Coming from Hazel.
I started fumbling to open the door, stepped out and grabbed my guiding stick, awkwardly, I made my way to a screaming Hazel, lying against the front door.
"Hazel what's wrong?" I yelled, she just screamed, I rested her head on my lap. "Kaitlyn! Open up! It's Hazel! Kaitlyn please! Help!"
I heard the front door open and Kaitlyn grabbed Hazel from me under the arms, Hazel screaming in pain.
Kaitlyn led her to the couch and lay her down, I carried her oxygen tank and awkwardly made my way after them.
"Call an ambulance!" I yelled to Kaitlyn over hazels screams.
Then it stopped.
The screams. They stopped.
I immediately thought the worst.
"Hazel, Hazel, stay with us!" I cried.
But all I heard was laughing.
Hazel straightened herself up on the couch, and laughed towards me and Kaitlyn, who were crouched down next to her on the plush carpet.
Kaitlyn didn't have to say anything for me to know how shocked and confused she was.
Because I was too.
"Hazel, what the fuck?" Kaitlyn wailed in utter frustration. Her voice was shaking.
Hazel had stopped laughing, obviously realising we were actually fearful of her life.
"Hazel. We thought you were ill. I thought you were freaking dying! Why did you do that?" I demanded, tears in my eyes.
"Well Kaitlyn wasn't opening the door to an anger bestfriend. I knew of course she would open the front door to a dying bestfriend." Hazel enlightened, an innocent giggle in her voice.
"So not cool." Kaitlyn whimpered, still In a shaky voice. "Well, If you are both in perfectly good health, I would like you to leave."
What the hell?
I don't see my girlfriend for almost a full week.
We come around to her house were our bestfriend has a total (pretend) dying episode so she would even let us enter the house, and now she's asking bus to leave?
Not a fucking chance.
I stood up abruptly from my crouching position, beside Hazel and facing Kaitlyn.
"Kaitlyn. We aren't going." My voice had a tone in it I didn't recognise, anger maybe.
"Isaac, please. Just go." She was crying now.
So was I.
"Kaitlyn, please talk to me." I pleaded, reaching for her hand.
She rejected it.
I was about to have yet another mental breakdown before Hazel intervened.
"Yeah...um... Hi." I could since her standing up, tilting her oxygen tank. "Uh, Isaac. I'll be in the minivan. Bye." And she started walking.
I turned in her direction. "Hazel. don't go." Then I mimed "don't leave me."
"Isaac, I got you in. It's all I can do bud. Don't kill each other." And then she left.
