"Is that what you're going to wear today?" My mother asked indicating to my clothes as I slurped up a spoon full of chocolate loops.

Looking down at my black skinny jean I noticed that the knees ripped open a little wider and my shirt seemed more faded then I remembered.

"What's wrong with it?" I shrugged.

"No nothing, I'm just not use to you dressing that way." She said before taking a sip of her steaming tea.

That's true...I would have never wore this to school in LA. My outfit usually consisted of short dresses , high crop tops, super-short-shorts or my cheerleader outfit if we had practice.

But this is my time to start over, a new chapter, a new me, a better me.

I pushed myself away from the island as the chairs screeched on the marble floors.

"Alex." My mother shook her head in disbelief.

"What?" I asked surprised before I could realize that she was talking about the chair scraping the floor. "Oh. Sorry."

My mother rolled her eyes as she shook her head. "Come on. Let's go." She said placing her tea cup and my cereal bowl in the sink.

"I'll be right down." I called as I ran up the stairs.

Coming to a halt in front of the enormous mirror that covered my entire closet door I took one final look at the new Alex I kept on convincing myself about.

I ruffled my fingers through my long golden blonde hair before slipping into my cold, black leather jacket.

My hands held onto my collar as my eyes drifted out of focus. A powerful daze had me glued to my appearance while my surroundings grew foggy.

"... Alex..." A trembling voice echoed through my thoughts. "Please stop!" It softly pleaded again.

Shaking my head, I forced the voices away as I let out a shaky breath.

"Alex Spark." I muttered through clenched teeth.

I took a deep breath.

"Alex Spark." I said as I forced a wide smile.

Satisfied, I dropped the smile before leaning down to grab my backpack as I left my room.

...

Two enormous iron gates that outlined the school made small shivers of goosebumps run down my arms, tucking at old memories as we neared the school.

The old ran brick building stood two stories high with dark green ivy creeping up against the walls, cradling the faded windows.
