Making 'not knowing' part of growing...
With a dull thud the phone slowly fell onto its corner, giving a single turn before landing on its back, illuminating the screen.
My breath hitches feeling the quiver in my lip as I focused on my trembling hands covered in that red stain.
Red sand.
The same red sand.Realization coldly ran over my tense shoulders feeling my jaw tightening as it trapped me in a confused daze.
Gradually I crept down my bed, sitting on the floor as I pulled my knees to my chest trying to calm my breathing.
The buzzing of my mind continued as I squeezed my eyes as hard as I could.
Hearing a slight shuffle of shoes moving across my room my head slowly lifted, knowing exactly who it could be.
"I told you to go." My voice brokenly mumbled.
"If you really wanted me to go - I wouldn't be here." He said while fiddling through the thousands of unnecessary things sprawled out over my desk.
"What's going on?" Jordan's low voice echoed through the quietness of my lonely room as he leened up against the wall crossing his arms over his chest.
"I wish I knew." I shrugged.
"Things were suppose to get better – I was suppose to get better." I said before he could speak, feeling jittery from sitting motionlessly on my floor.
"I thought I left all of this behind." I angrily stated jumping to my feet.
"-but this sh*t just keeps following me around!" I said pacing up and down my room.
Calm down Alex. Calm down. Please.
"Things are happening to me that isn't real - but then this happens." I came to a stop in front of Jordan pulling on my shirt to expose my right shoulder, revealing a perfect black charcoaled hand burned into my flesh.
