My hands tightened around the arm rest of the modern black leather chair. My leg nervously trembled while my heel pumped up and down. My eyes focused on all the eccentric posters clinging against the walls.
Posters filled with inspirational quotes, unconventional pictures and doctors who seem way to young to wear that white coat.
"Look Alexandra I - " I interrupted her. "Alex." I firmly said.
"My apologies , Alex." She nodded. "I know I'm not Dr. Weller -don't get me wrong she's a extraordinary psychotherapist, but I assure you I'm just as capable." She nervously fiddled with her glasses while straightening her posture.
I adverted my attention towards her sitting on her chair to my left with one leg crossed over the other. I gave a small nod , not really interested in what she has to say.
"Right, let us begin." She stated pushing down the small red button on the digital box timer resting on the coffee table in front of us. My eyes glued to the watch while the red numbers began taking their shapes, counting on and on without any hesitation - one after the other.
...
"Are you ready Alex?" Dr. Weller's soft comforting voice said while I laid down on the small couch. My head slowly nodded turning to see the red digital numbers passing one by one.
"Listen to my voice, focus on what you hear." Dr. Weller leaned forwards pulling one silver ball away from the pendulum , suspending it in the air for a breathe moment before it dropped.
Tick, tick, tick,tick, tick,tick
The small silver spheres swayed in slow motion.
"Relax, lay back and close your eyes Alex. You're safe. I'm not going to let anything happen to you..." She added seeing my uneasy tension.
I turned my head up towards the ceiling, closing my eyes before reaping all my thoughts from my head, leaving nothing but the repetition of sounds from the pendulum.
"Go back to your hospital room, the day you woke up... " Her voice drifted. The darkness dissolved moulding into a luminous room where I laid motionless, while my breathing grew erratically.
"Control your breathing Alex. There's no reason to get anxious... Describe your emotions ,what're feeling." Her voice pierced through the thick white walls.
My right arm suddenly twitched, making my entire body uneasy.
"Discomfort." I muttered.
"Explain." Is all Dr. Weller said. I peered down towards my arm seeing the thick black straps firmly keeping them down in place.
