"Hey, there's a pizza special at The Coffee Corner today, wanna go?" Jess leaned towards me whispering.

"Sure." I slightly turned my head towards her trying not to draw any attention. "Yay, we have to go after school, it usually sells out fast. " Jess whispered while tinkering with her pen.

I nodded my head. "Oh wait, no I can't." I quickly added. "Why not?" Jess asked with a confused look on her face.

"I've got track practice after school." I answered looking down towards my book.

"Oh yeah, are you excited?" Jess asked turning towards me. "Kinda - " I got interrupted.

"Ms. Spark , Ms Johnston. My apologies, I didn't realize that I was interrupting your conversation. Please carry on." Mr. O'Connell said leaning back against his desk folding his arms.

Mr O'Connell's white tie filled with thousands of little music notes matched the never ending boredom of history class, but he had a unexplainable passion that made him full of energy while he paraded throughout the classroom trying to convince us that the Second World War was one of the greatest wars ever fought.

I turned my head towards Jess not knowing what to say or do. Jess looked towards me and back towards Mr. O'Connell with a brought smile on her face.

"No thank you Sir, we're finished." Jess answered. Her response made me snicker, she looked back towards me unable to keep her serious face.

"Yes you are. Take your bag and get out of my class." He said in a serious tone, without any expression on his face.

"The both of you." He added. The class grew extremely quiet, everybody waiting for a response.

Jess and I turned to each other not knowing what to say or do. I bit down on my lip, trying not to say a word. Jess and I tossed our book back into our bag , standing up.

I shrugged swinging my bag over my shoulder. We walked out of the class in silent.

Jess closed the door behind us, hearing Mr. O'Connell continuing his class.

We both looked towards each other laughing. "Yeah, like I said. Anger issues." Jess widened her eyes.

We walked down the empty halls, not really knowing what to do. "Sorry that I got you in trouble." Jess finally said when we sat down in the hall on a seat.

"It's fine." I laughed. "That class was boring anyway." I smiled leaning back against the cold wall.

"Wait. It's break after this right?  Let's go to the cafeteria." Jess excitedly said jumping up. "Okay." I followed her towards the cafeteria where we sat down at our usual table.

"The place seems different when nobody's in here. " I said while tossing my bag next to me. Jess nodded while she played something on her phone.

"How's the food here?" I asked looking towards the kitchen where all kinds of sounds and chatter came.

"The cafeteria food?" Jess asked looking up. "It's actually good, and not too expensive." She answered.

Cafeteria food that's good? That's the first.

"How was the food in your old school?" She asked placing her phone down on the table. "Bad." I laughed. "We were almost 2000 students, so the options was limited." I added.

"Wow, that's twice the size of this school." Jess said surprised. "Yeah." I smiled at the memory.

I loud shrieking bell rang and within seconds the cafeteria doors slammed open with students.
