When I woke, I actually was in the nurse's office. I sat up and Blaze was across from me.
"Blaze, what the hell was that?!" I half whispered half yelled.
"Hey, you said you wanted to know."
I rolled my eyes and checked the time. It was lunch, but not sixth period. I was so hungry.
"You're hungry."
"Yes, but my lunch period isn't for two more periods."
Then, it was quiet. Too quiet. He seemed like he was hiding something.
"Blaze, what are you hiding?" He sighed.
"He knows I told you. He knows you passed out."
"And," I paused. "Your point is?"
"Well, he's on his way here to make sure your okay."
"No! He can't!" I exclaimed.
"Why not?"
I was getting so frustrated. Not just with Blaze but with everyone!
"Because I don't want him to! People could get suspicious."
Before Blaze spoke, Xander walked in, looking sick as ever. I made room for him to sit next to me.
"Xander, you look awful!"
You look like you've seen a ghost." He replied.
I chuckled. "I feel like I've seen a ghost."
"I saw you get hit by that car yesterday. How are you not broken?" He clutched his stomach.
I shrugged. He couldn't know anything. Besides, I didn't even know how I wasn't in a hospital bed.
"You two look very similar. Xander, what's your last name?"
"Perez, why?"
My eyes widened. "Who's your mom and dad?"
"There names are Natasha and Aaron Perez. What're you playing at here?"
"Those are my parents."
"You must be joking."
"Why on earth would I be joking?" I asked. He just shrugged. "Did they put you up for foster care?"
"They did."
"Me too."
"You're my sister?!" He seemed alarmed.
"You're my brother?!" I was very alarmed. "I knew I had a brother, but I had no idea who it really was! This is amazing!"
"But also slightly terrifying." Xander said. "It's really sudden."
"Yeah, that too."
I then had a realization and immediately turned to Blaze. I told him that Lucifer can't know about Xander.
"I know." He said.
"Who can't know about me?"
"Don't worry," I was calm and reasonable. "You'll know eventually, I promise."
I went to my fifth period class, but ten minutes later I was called down to the office. When I arrived I saw Lucifer. . . pacing back and forth. I didn't go in. I turned around and started to walk away, but he must've seen me because I heard a man's voice call my name.
"Yvette!" He ran out and grasped me in a tight hug.
"I'm fine. Please let go of me." I spoke hesitantly and quietly.
He did as I requested. I backed away from him. He took a step forward, reaching out for me. I felt my heart beat faster, and heard my head scream 'danger'. I ran away towards my class.
"Yvette!" I heard his footsteps echo through the hall, following me.
I ran into the girls washroom and started to text Xander. Just before I hit send, I realized he'd then find out about. . .Lucifer. I deleted the text message and heard footsteps walking into the washroom. I hid in a stall, locking it behind me.
"Yvette, please."
I felt tears roll down my cheeks. I was scared. Suddenly, a weird sobbing type sound escaped my lips. I quickly covered my mouth, eyes wide. Then I heard footsteps in the hallway. It was my only choice to save myself. I yelled.
"No! Go away!"
"Yvette," He was calm.
I screamed at the top of my lungs. The footsteps became quicker. They echoed all the way into the washroom.
"Hey! Who are you?!" It was Xander. Lucifer immediately left as soon as he was caught.
"Hello? Are you okay? Can you hear me?"
I opened the stall, and walked out, tears streaming down my face.
"Xander. ."
"Yvette!" He ran to me and hugged me. "Are you alright? Who was that man?"
"The man I can't tell you about."
He sighed. "Well, you kinda have to now."
"Later. After school."
"He's the one who kidnapped you the day you got hit, isn't he? Come and stay with me."
"Do you have a car?"
"Yes. I can drive."
"Perfect. Main doors after school."
He nodded and hugged me. We went our separate ways. After the rest of fifth, I speed walked to sixth period lunch. Xander sat with me like he did the other day. After school we met up. When we headed to his car, Lucifer was already waiting at the corner by his car.
"Yvette!" He called.
"Run!" Zander yelled, taking my hand and pulling me along.
We made it to his car, getting in quickly. He started the car and drove to his home, and hopefully my new one until all of this was set aside.
