Hei dropped his mask as he stared into Cain's shocked eyes.
No, no there was no way in hell that Cain was the fucking Phantom.
Cain could see the look of hurt in Hei's eyes. He tried to open his mouth and say something but nothing came out.
"You bastard..."
"Hei I-"
"So what was that earlier hm? A charming little display? Something you could use to feel me out?"
"NO! I had no idea you'd be the one I'd be hired to kill!!"
"BULLSHIT!! SHIT LIKE THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN!!"
"EVER HEARD OF A COINCIDENCE?!"
"OF THIS MAGNITUDE?! HELL THE FUCK NO!!"
They were both beyond pissed and at a loss for words. The ambiance was just filled with anger, hurt, and betrayal.
"Daddy?"
Hei looked over and found Haise peeking around a corner.
He looked back at Cain who just nodded and turned his back to them.
"Come here."
He ran over and instantly latched on to his dad's legs
"Why'd you come out? I told you stay hidden until I come to get you."
"I w-was worried you'd d-die..."
"I told you, I'm not gonna die. But I need you to stay safe until I come to get you alright?"
"...okay."
Cain couldn't help but look at the adorable scene before him and sigh before picking up his gun and putting it away.
"Don't wanna continue your attack?"
"Do you want me to?"
"No, what I want is answers..."
"I can't do that."
"And why is that?"
"Because I don't ask questions and I don't give out information on clientele."
"Then if you're all about your job, kill me here and now Cain. Me and my son."
Hei threw a knife that Cain caught with ease.
He knew he was serious. He would actually let him kill him at this point.
He could do it, he could kill him right now and his contract would be complete. But he couldn't.
Every fiber in his being was telling him to just cut him down but he just couldn't. Cain the Phantom had found someone he couldn't kill.
"NO!", he screamed as he threw the knife into a wall.
"Then tell me...what I want to know."
"A woman. She hired me to kill the man who killed her family. That's you, the Reaper."
"Yeah I did it and I'd do it again too."
"And that's why we're here right now."
"Do you have any idea about the things that girl's family has done? The countless lives they've taken? The lives they've ruined?!"
"You don't get to make those calls Hei!!"
"POT MEET FUCKING KETTLE!! You're a fucking hitman with no moral compass or honor. At least I kill for free and I only take out those who deserve it!!"
