Ivory
"Hey! Give that back! I'm trying to pick an outfit!" I yell at Declan who has took it upon him to help me with my clothes. He has a red dress that I had to wear for something at my mom's job and is looking at if it's my underwear. The dress is pretty but I won't have anything to wear it to.
"Wait, you're going to wear this!" He asked with his mouth wide open. I hope a fly lands in there. We are sitting in his room looking at my clothes. We have been up here for an hour. We just started doing this. Before this he showed the little bookshelf he has in the living room. It didn't have any book I have read but they looked promising.
"In your dreams!" I say to him.
"Hey, I have a question?"
"And I may have an answer," He rolls his eyes and continues.
"When you were yelling at your dad, you said something?"
"Well, you're going to have to be a little more specific than that. I said a lot of things."
"You said I was your boyfriend," He says with a smirk.
"I bet you have been thinking about that non-stop," I don't stop going through the clothes. He did stop. He's looking at me smiling.
"Maybe. But you didn't answer the question. So, am I?"
I think about the question. I don't know what to say. I'm not going to say that I haven't thought about it. What do you call two teens that kiss all the time? Dating. But he hasn't asked me.
"You have to ask me, then I have to go on a date to see if I want to go out with you. I don't know if you will murder me yet. I'm not sure yet, you still seem like a murderer to me," I tell him in a very serious voice.
"Oh, I'm so sorry that my murdering vibe is coming off today. It's just you are so beautiful you shouldn't be on an earth that is so ugly," I stop this time. I look up at him.
"Smooth! You turned you being a murder into an pick up line. Nice job!" I put the clothes back in the bag. I pick a white sundress that I forgot I put in the bag. I get up from the bed, he does too. He walks to me with a big smile.
"I know right, I'm just so smooth. I did get you to kiss me finally, didn't I?"
"Did you see how I change the subject so easy?" The smile vanishes with that. I laugh and went to walk to the bathroom to change. But he got hold of my arm, I laugh again.
"How did you do that? You didn't answer the question."
"You haven't asked me!"
"But you sleeping in the same bed as me isn't what normal people do."
"I thought you knew that me and the word normal don't go together."
" Being classified as 'normal' is overrated, anyway." He bends down to kiss the top of my head. I laugh softly under my breath.
"Will you go on a date with me, Ivory Renée Morgan?"
"Why do you have to say my full name? Am I going to get in trouble on this little date, mom?"
"No, sweetie." He says in the weird voice. His face turns into wonder and he wraps his arms around my waist. "It's just like the way your names sounds. Why does everything about you have to be perfect?" I feel my face get warmer on my cheeks.
"I'm not perfect. Nothing about me is perfect." I say I'm a small voice that I can barely even hear.
His big hand slid up to my face. He looks me in the eyes.
