Declan
After Grace screams at Ivory, her new boyfriend pulls her away from our table. The guy she's with I don't know who he is. I'm guessing Tyler had a enough of her being in love with her ex. This guy's going to have fun.
"Is the ring that distinctive?" Ivory asks me after a second or two.
Before I can answer her our food comes. We don't have the same waitress anymore, I guess she didn't like the fact that I have a girlfriend. That's sounds amazing! Me calling her my girlfriend. I have always imagined myself calling you that but not actually saying it out loud.
I look at her hand. It really is. Now that it's finally out of the box and on someone's finger the blue seems even brighter. Every glance of like that hits the diamonds with the trolls sparkle the whole room. The bracelet match perfectly with the ring. You can obviously tell that we were together with just the ring and bracelet.
"Yes, it's very distinctive. It's gorgeous with your skin," I take her left hand with the ring and kiss it. She smiles at me showing all of her white and perfect teeth.
"Well, dig in and tell me how good it is," I tell her letting go of her hand and looking at my Chicken Lasagna. It smells pretty amazing. I love lasagna, I wonder what it taste like. I take my fork and cut off a piece. I look up at Ivory. She is doing the same thing we both pick up our forks and put the food in our mouths.
"Whoa!" We exclaim in union. She chews, swallow and she goes in for another bite while I watch her.
I laugh and say, "I told you it was good."
She ignores me and keeps eating.
"I have never had baked spaghetti, but this is amazing!" She says with a mouthful of noodles. I love how she eats like herself around me around anyone. Doesn't pretend to be anyone she's not.
"Wait, you've never had baked spaghetti!"
"You've met my parents. Do they seem like they know how to make baked spaghetti?"
"Touché. But don't you have a grandmother or something."
She shakes her head as she takes another bite. She seems completely calm about talking about her past. If I were in her shoes I wouldn't be like her. I would be losing my mind. I nearly lost my mind losing my little sister over something I couldn't control. In a way Ivory is dealing with the same thing. She couldn't control being born a girl when her parents wanted her to be a boy.
"My dad parents are dead and my dad won't let me see my mom's, who are live. They stopped talking to my mom when she married my dad. They hate him even more than I do, if that's even possible. He seems to make everyone around him hate him.""Maybe that's why he's so angry. He didn't have someone who loved him."
"Then why do that to me if he know how it feels, Declan. You may know what happen but you don't know how it feels to be unloved for years." Her voice is starting to get aggravated. She stopped eating and was just looking at me.
"I told you not to talk like that. You know now that I loved you all those years."
"Now, I do. I know you love me, now. I grew up thinking you hated me too. The only person who showed me they at least like being with me was Taylor. But now she has her boyfriend. And why the hell are you defending my father? You know how he hates me for no apparent reason!" She's yelling now. I understand where she's coming from. She's tightening her jaw, that's what she does when she's angry. I haven't seen her do it in a week. I'm disappointed in myself that it's back.
