Today was the day. The day you would leave for Hogwarts. You were already awake and fully packed at least an hour before you had to leave. Your brother was still asleep and hadn't even started packing yet but you didn't care, it was your first year and you didn't bother thinking of anyone else but yourself.

I practically leaped downstairs, already fully dressed with my school trunk trailing behind me. I left it by the front entrance to the manor before running into the kitchen. My father was, once again, reading the daily prophet at the kitchen table. He put it down to look at me and smile.
'Excited for your first journey to Hogwarts? I suspect you'll become great friends with Draco. Him and his family are quite well known.' My father said as I sat down at the table in the drawing room.
I held my wand in my hand and turned around as I heard my brother, Rincewind, enter.
'How come I never got this much attention for my first year?' He asked with a hint of jealousy in his voice.
'Jealous, Rincewind?' I said raising an eyebrow as I looked up at him.
'Shut up.' He playfully pushed my shoulder before crossing his arms.
'Rincewind, dear. Why are you not ready yet?' My mother asked giving him a concerning look. His response was just to chuckle nervously and run back upstairs so he could get ready.
He came down around 45 minutes to get ready and I had been waiting in the drawing room, feeling incredibly bored. When he did finally come back downstairs I stood up and smiled widely. 'Finally! You took forever, now can we go?' I asked, getting a nod in response from my parents. I ran to the front door and picked up my trunk and Saffron, holding her up to my chest. Rincewind just sighed at my excitement and walked toward me, picking up his trunk and walking outside. I followed him just infront of my parents.
When my father stepped out, he held his arm out and the three of us took a hold of it. We were then transported to a hidden alleyway near Kings Cross before the four of us stepped out and walked inside the station. My father lead the way to platform nine and stood by a wall inbetween platform nine and ten. When we stopped, I already knew why we were there as Rincewind had told me about how he got to the platform. Platform nine and three quarters. My mother took my hand and walked towards the wall, when she was sure no one was looking she stepped through.
I looked to my left, seeing the gleaming scarlet train. It had the words 'Hogwarts Express' in shiny gold lettering along the side. I looked up to see a clock above my head, the time was 10:50 so it was going to leave in exactly ten minutes.
There are already quite a few students aboard the train as well as a few surrounding me on the platform, saying goodbye to their parents.
I hugged my mother and did the same to my father when he came through.
'We're both going to miss you so much. Make sure to send us an owl when you get there so we know you're safe.' My mother said before she kissed me on the top of my head before I walked to the train.
I lifted my luggage onto the train and found an empty compartment to sit in. I put my trunk into the space above my seat and sat down, with Saffron sat in my lap.
I was going to get a book out to read until the compartment door was slid open.
'Crabbe, Goyle in here.' I recognised the voice immediately as Draco Malfoy. He sat down opposite me and smirked. 'Hello, Y/N. You looked rather lonely in here.'
'Wow. Well I'm not anymore now that you're here.' I said, trying to ignore what he just said. A few seconds later, two quite large boys walked in and sat next to Draco.
'Y/N, this Crabbe and Goyle.' He pointed to each boy as he said their names. 'Crabbe, Goyle, this is Y/N. She is another pure-blood and our parents are friends so treat her with as much respect that you treat me with.'
I just smile at them as they both nod. 'Pleasure.'
After this, the train started moving and I waved at my parents one last time before they were out of sight. I looked back at the three boys and smiled.
'Y/N, is it true? That Harry Potter is coming to Hogwarts this year? I assume that because of your parents, you would know.' Said Draco with a cunning expression on his face.
'Yes, my mother had told me about it. Said that I should probably try to be friendly with him, though she didn't quite tell me why. She was going to but my father stopped her.' I replied, stroking Saffron's head gently.
'So my father was correct. My father believes that he could be the next Dark Lord and that he has powerful dark magic, I overheard my parents talking.' He said smugly, looking between the two boys and me.
We continued to talk about Harry for a while before I got bored and looked out the window. I hope I can make some other friends aside from Draco at Hogwarts, I'm sure there are some Slytherin girls who share the same views of blood purity as me. Mother and father wouldn't be too happy if I became friends with mudbloods. I thought as I continued to look out the window. Though my thoughts were interrupted when a girl with bushy hair walked in.
'Excuse me, have you seen a toad anywhere?' She asked, showing very large front teeth as she spoke. 'A boy named Neville has lost one-'
'No, now leave. Can't you see that wears trying to have a conversation?' Said Draco, interrupting her before anyone else could respond. She looked like she was going to say something else but I spoke first.
'He said we haven't seen one. So go look somewhere else. And close the door when you leave.' I rolled my eyes at her as she left, she looked slightly upset at how we were being quite rude but I didnt care.
The rest of the train ride was quite uneventful. Aside from Draco and I talking and getting to know each other a bit better. Even thought I'd been over to his house a few times when we were younger, I never really knew that much about him.
A voice could be heard throughout the train, suddenly waking me up as I was almost asleep.
'We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes' time. Please leave your luggage on the train, it will be taken to the school separately.'
