You had woken before any of the other girls you shared your dorm with. You quietly got up and got ready, brushing your teeth, your hair and puting on your new slytherin robes. You smiled as they fit perfectly before walking into the common room to find Draco already awake. "Oh, hello Draco. You're up early. Eager for you first day I presume?" He shrugs his shoulders as he looks out the window, out into the lake. "Not really, Crabbe snores and Goyle talks in his sleep. It's hard not to wake up early with those two." You giggle as you sit down on the black leather sofa, admiring the room. "You've got Transfiguration first don't you?"
"Yes, why?"
"I was just wondering, I wanted to know if anyone decent was in any of my classes today. Anyway, shall we go get some breakfast? If we leave now we could get some good seats." Draco nods and you both leave the common room to go to the great hall for breakfast. Soon, more and more people join you as you all eat together.

Once breakfast was done, it was time for your first lesson: Transfiguration with Professor Mcgonagall. You and Draco walked with Crabbe and Goyle. The four of you walked in and picked your seats, you sat next to Draco in the row directly infront of Mcgonagall's desk leaving a desk infront of you whilst Crabbe and Goyle sat behind you two. Other students came in, Professor Mcgonagall was already sat at her desk. Once she thought everyone had arrived, the stood up and walked infront of her desk. "Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts," Professor Mcgonagall started the first lesson with a short lecture. You already know this was going to be 'great'... "Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned." Professor McGonagall turned around and changed her desk into a pig and then back again. Impressing all the students in the class. "Now, get out a quill, ink and a few pieces of parchment to take some notes." You quickly get out what she told you, before everyone made some quite complicated notes. You look over to Draco and nudge him slightly. "Do you understand any of this?" He just scoffs at you, like the answer is obvious. "Of course I do, why wouldn't I?"
"Whatever." You giggle slightly and shake your head before each of you were given a match. "Now, I want you to turn this match into a needle." Professor McGonagall walked to the front of her class and transformed herself into a cat to sit upon her desk.

Around 15 minutes had passed before you heard the doors to the room open then slam shut followed by the heavy footsteps of none other than Weasley and Potter. "Look who decided to show up." You turn around and smirk as Draco says this to you, just loud enough so they could hear. "Whew. We made it." You scoff silently. "Barely."
"Can you imagine the look on old Mcgonagall's face if we were late?" As soon as Weasley stopped speaking, the 'cat' that was on the professor's desk jumped forward, morphing into Professor Mcgonagall herself. Weasley and Potter just stare at her, shocked as you try to actually get on with your work. "That was bloody brilliant."
"Oh, thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter and yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time."
"We got lost." Wesley nods in agreement as Potter says this, hoping Professor Mcgonagall would let it go. "Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats?" She walks back to her desk as everyone continues to try and turn their match into a needle.

Neither you, nor Draco manages to change anything about your match. "Oh yeah, you're so good at this, aren't you Draco?"
"Shut up, Y/N. You're no better are you?" You cross your arms as you know that he was right.

You're next class was Defense against the Dark arts with Gryffindor. You were looking forward to showing how already skilled you were in this subject. Mainly just so you could show off to the Gryffindors. However, the class wasn't as good as you'd hope it would be. It smelled very strongly of garlic-due to Professor Quirrell's fear of a vampire he met once coming back for him. The majority of the lesson was him stood at the front, stumbling over his words and stuttering as he tried to teach. You and Draco already knew quite a bit about DADA though, thanks to your parents so neither of you needed to worry about falling behind like the rest.

During one of his 'lectures' he changed the subject to talk about the purple turban wrapped around his head. Apparently, he had gotten it from an African Prince for getting rid of a zombie. You definetely did not believe his story. "You're not believing this are you? I'm struggling to believe he even knows anything about this class, nevermind about how to get rid of a zombie." You nod in response to Draco as he whispers to you. "Yeah, I haven't learned a single thing, not that I need too." Your conversation was interrupted by Seamus Finnigan, one of the Gryffindors in the class. "Professor, how did you fight off the zombie?" He seemed quite eager in his voice as he asked. In response, Professor Quirrell just went slightly pink before changing the subject completely to talk about the weather. The rest of the lesson was slow and you were relieved when it was finally over.
