Chapter 11 - Tarantallegra

You hadn't gotten to sleep for a while after you stormed into your dorm room, trying hard not to slam the door behind you as to not wake the other girls. You just laid in bed, feeling quite angry at your brother.

The next morning, you slowly woke up and sat on the edge of your bed for a while. You started to wake up properly before getting dressed into your school robes and walking to the great hall. It was filled with students talking about what happened with the troll the previous night. You swore you could've heard something about Potter and Weasley saving Granger but you thought you just imagined it as you were still rather tired.

You slowly made your way over to the Slytherin table and sat opposite Draco.
"Y/N, are you okay? What happened with you and your brother last night?"
"Oh, we got into a small argument. I'm sure we'll both be over it by the end of the week." Draco nodded.
"Have you heard? Apparently Potter and Weasley saved Granger from that troll. It had found her in the girls' bathroom." You laugh as you start to eat some toast with butter.
"It's a shame they hadn't left her. It would've been great to not have to deal with at least one of them for the next few years."

Breakfast was finished, you and Draco walked up to the third floor for charms.
"Are you excited for the Quidditch match next week? I heard that Potter is Gryffindor's new seeker. I bet he's going to fall off his broom." You said this quite happily as you adjusted the strap of your bag on your shoulder.
"Of course Slytherin is going to win. And someone's going to need to run around the pitch under Potter holding a mattress to cushion his fall." You laugh as you enter your charms class to see a few other Slytherins and Hufflepuffs already sat in their seats.
"Terence needs to just knock Potter off his broom and get to the snitch before he does."

After charms, you had Herbology with Ravenclaw then your timetable was free for the rest of the day until Astronomy with Ravenclaw at 7:45. Until then, you and Draco decided to walk around the school grounds with Crabbe and Goyle following like usual. The ground was covered in frost and you had made sure to put on your winter cloak and your Slytherin scarf. You didn't really have a reason to be outside, you just wanted to get some fresh air and dragged Draco along with you who made Crabbe and Goyle come too. As you walked - shivering slightly - you remembered what had happened a few hours earlier in charms class.

¤Flashback¤

You are sat next to Draco as you listen to professor Flitwick go on and on about the dancing charm. Since you were quite talented in charms, you had already learned most of the spells. Once Professor Flitwick had stopped talking and told you to try casting the spell on the object infront of you. Each student had a different object, you had an empty bottle and Draco had a fork. You watched as mostly everyone completely failed and laughed, you made your bottle dance first time then got bored. Looking around the classroom, you saw Susan Bones across the classroom. She had gotten out of her seat to ask Flitwick a question and you smirked to yourself as you pointed your wand at her and cast the dancing spell.
"Tarantallegra!" You watched as she uncontrollably danced across the class room. Draco, Crabbe and Goyle laughed with you as Bones started to panic. Professor Flitwick turned to you since you were laughing quite loudly, he noticed your bottle had been discarded and your wand was in your hand. He took a wild guess that it was you.
"Miss. Avery, do you have anything to do with this?" Professor Flitwick had cast the general counter spell and Susan had stopped dancing now, she crossed her arms as you continued giggling. In response to Flitwick, you just shrugged whilst smirking. Professor Flitwick did look quite funny when he got angry, especially considering he was so short.
"Five points from Slytherin for your terrible behaviour." Susan walked back up to her seat and you leant back in yours, smiling at her fakely across the classroom.

¤End of flashback¤

"You know what would be funny, Draco?" You crossed your arms over your chest as he looked down at you.
"What?"
"If someone tried to plant Professor Flitwick in one of the greenhouses to see if he would grow. Professor Sprout must have something to help, right?" You said this, earning a laugh from the four boys before you all stopped in the paved grounds. Draco walked over to the wall of the castle and leant against it, you, Crabbe and Goyle followed and stood next to him. Draco watched as other pupils walked around infront of the four of you. He sneered before speaking.
"Quite sad isn't it? Being a Hufflepuff. They're basically not good enough to be in any other house." Crabbe and Goyle laugh at what he says.
"I know, they aren't incredibly smart, brave-" Draco cuts you off as you're speaking.
"Brave?" He instantly knew you were talking about Gryffindors.
"Have you seen Longbottom? I can't believe they let him in this school, never mind sort him into Gryffindor!" You laugh before continuing with what you were saying.
"And, they aren't powerful. So, they're not in Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. So they must be in Hufflepuff, it's kind of like they're just here." All of you laugh before a small group of Hufflepuffs walk over. By the expressions on their faces, they had heard everything both of you said and weren't too happy about it.

"Watch your mouth you Slytherin scum! Just because you're pure bloods and your parents obviously worked for You-Know-Who, doesn't mean you get to make everyone miserable." You knew the boy as Ernie Macmillan. Of course, the only reason you knew him was because he got quite annoyed at you a few times during charms.
"Oh yeah, and what exactly are you going to do about it, Macmillan?" Draco stepped forward and stared Ernie in the eyes, you looked behind him noticing Susan Bones. You smirked as you got out your wand, you saw her take a step back. Macmillan looked at you and crossed his arms.
"And as for you, Avery, you're just as bad as Malfoy. You two will get what's coming to you one day." With that, the small group of Hufflepuffs stormed off. You and Draco just laughed, mocking them before going inside for Lunch.
