We have one hour to eat lunch before we have to report to competition. Brynn, Jace, Nia, Camryn, Maesi, and I are going to get burgers. Ever since Maddie's come back it's been us as a group against Maddie, Kendall, Kalani, and Mackenzie. I wish it wasn't like this but it is. I didn't want the team to divide just because I came.
"Was wong my Twinidy?" Alec says climbing onto my lap and hugging me. "It's nothing." I say rubbing his back soothingly. "Trinity." Jace says sternly giving me his "tell me" look. Yeah we've gotten to know each other pretty well. "I just don't like that the team is divided. I just feel like it's my fault." I say looking down. Alec hugs me tighter putting his head in the crook of my neck. "Trinity it's not your fault. Maddie hasn't contacted any of us in months. She just up and left and forgot about us. We're happy to call you our friend." Nia says.
"And I've never known Maddie or this team and you were the first person to talk to me outside of the studio. Of course I'm going to be by your side instead of Maddie's." Jace says giving me a hug. "And you treat the minis and I like actual people." Maesi says. I smile at everyone and thank them. That makes me feel a lot better. We get back to eating joking around like nothing ever happened. Suddenly Mackenzie walks up to us with tears streaming down her face. I hand Alec to Jace and walk up to Mackenzie, Brynn following me.
"What's wrong?" I ask Mackenzie, Brynn giving her a hug. "I thought Maddie and I were coming back together. But she's been ignoring me ever since. I was never close friends with Kalani and Kendall so now I don't know what to do." she hiccups. "Eat with us. We don't judge and we include everyone." I say gesturing towards our table. "I'd like that." Mackenzie smiles through her tears. I give her a hug before leading her to our table.
"Ok girls the group dances are up first so go out there and win this!" Abby says before working with the other group. "Ok guys! We've worked extremely hard on this so let's go out there and put our all on the floor." I say giving my group dance members a hug.
"Now may we present entry number 17 Don't Leave." The other group goes on stage and they do bad. Maesi is doing the moves perfectly in time while the other girls are too fast and Kendall and Maddie's technique is lacking. I feel bad for Maesi.
"Now we have entry number 18 Confident."
We nailed it! We go back stage and hug each other. "Guys that was so good!" Brynn says squealing. We all laugh and head backstage where Abby is yelling at the other group. "What the hell was that?! You guys were off time the whole time and your technique was horrible. Why did the youngest girl in the group nail it while you all did horribly!" Abby yells angrily.
"They did their best Abby." Jill says defending the girls. "If that's their best then they will never win." Abby says angrily then storms off. Oh no. Diets are up so I have to ignore the drama and get ready. "Don't worry about it. We have great chemistry and we've worked really hard. We'll do great." Jace says giving me a hug. I nod before getting in position backstage.
"Next in the duet/trio category we have entry number 19 As long as you love me."
Looking into Jace's eyes I can't help but blush. I can't have feelings for him. We walk backstage and he picks me up and swings me around. "We did so good!" he exclaims happily hugging me. "I know!" I say hugging him back. "It's time for your solo." Jace says leading me to the dressing room. I get dressed for my solo before going backstage with Brynn.
"We got this and no matter what we'll always be friends." I say giving her a hug. We do the shakedown before waiting for our solos.
"Next in the solo category we have entry number 20 Everything has a price." Brynn goes on stage and nails it.
"Next up we have entry number 21 Toxic."
I walk off stage and smile. I did really good and I don't care if I lose. While I'm in the dressing room a very sophisticated lady walks up to Jace and I. "I'm Angelina, a talent scout from Juilliard and I wanted to know if you and your duet partner would like to do a music video for us." she asks. "I'm their dance teacher and I say they'll do it." Abby says smiling. "You have some pretty talented kids." the scout says before leaving. Jace and I look at each other than hug each other tightly. "That was a really nice opportunity but it's time for the awards ceremony."
"In first place in the group category we have Confident." We accept our award smiling.
"In first place in the duet/trio category we have As long as you love me."
"In second place in the solo category 1 point away from first we have Toxic. In first place we have Everything has a price." I hug Brynn and congratulate her. She deserved this win.
"Abby why didn't you talk to that scout about the rest of the girls?!" Melissa yells angrily. "If the scout wanted to work with the other girls she would've talked about the other. Come on girls let's go home." Abby says. Maddie looks straight at me and glares causing me to flinch. Jace gives me a side hug and walks me away from her. I don't know why she hates me. We don't even know each other.
