When dance ends I change back into my normal clothes and go check on Alec. "Are you okay?" I ask him. He hugs me and nods silently. I'm a little worried about him if I'm being completely honest. He hasn't been vocalizing his opinions and has been attached to me at the hip at every opportunity he gets. It's like his separation anxiety has been heightened.
"Are you sure?" I ask, picking him up. He nods and puts his head in the crook of my neck. I rub his back soothingly and sit where the moms are to wait for my ride home.
"Is he okay?" Jace asks sitting next to me. "I have no idea. He's been really quiet lately and his anxiety is a lot bigger." I say worried for my little brother. "I'm sure he'll be okay. He's a tough little guy and it's because he loves you." Jace says. I nod rocking Alec to sleep.
"I was wondering if you could stay over my place tonight." Jace says rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "My dad has been really anxious to meet you and we could work on our duet." I don't know, but he does look really excited. And really nervous oddly. "I'll go." I say.
Jace lets out a sigh of relief. "I didn't think you'd say yes." he says blushing. I laugh and continue to talk and joke around with him, while we wait for his ride home. I text Ashley and ask her to pick up some clothes and hygiene products for Alec and I. "Our driver is here." Jace says. I look out the window and see that there is a huge limousine. Whoa. We're rich but I've never been around people who flaunt it to the point they have a limousine.
"My dad likes to ride in style but he won't be with us until later tonight." Jace says. His dad isn't there all the time just like my mom. It's a weird world. I lay Alec down in the limousine and buckle him up then sit next to Jace. "My house isn't too far so we can just chat."
"Why did you give your solo to Maesi?" Jace says. "I didn't want a solo this week because of the Juilliard video and Maesi deserves a solo after all the hard work she's been doing on the team." I say. "I feel that." Jace replies. "Who's your bestfriend on the team?" he asks.
"Brynn and you." I say. "Your mine too." I raise an eyebrow at this. "My b-bestfriend I mean." Jace stutters blushing. "I'm just joking." I say laughing. "Ha ha, very funny." Jace says rolling his eyes. I just give him an innocent smile.
"I know my dad isn't around the studio much but where is your mom?" Jace says. "The show is called Dance Moms after all." I didn't think we'd talk about this subject so soon. What am I supposed to say? My mom couldn't care less what Alec and I do. She'd rather "work" at her endless business parties than take care of her children.
"My mom is married to her work. It's just fancy party after fancy party. She often goes on business trips so Abby is my legal guardian when she isn't here so I can still be apart of the show even if she's not here." I say, glancing at Alec, making sure he's not awake. "The same with my dad, except he's usually just in meetings all day." Jace replies. I guess we have more in common then I thought.
"We're here."
