A/N: Infinity War spoilers ahead!
Today Peter's school started back classes. They had closed down, along with other schools, after half the universe disappeared. Students had disappeared from school grounds. They just turned to dust and ash, and went to the soul stone where they were tortured with their deepest pain. In the soul stone, Peter had seen a world without his friends and family. Luckily Ned, MJ, and May didn't have to go through that.
Tony asked Peter a million times if he was sure he was ready to go back to school so soon. It had only been 3 days since May's death. Peter just wanted to go to get his mind off of it. He wanted to fill his brain with anything but May.
When he arrived at school, he went to the library where him, Ned, and MJ agreed to meet up before school. They hadn't seen each other in forever. He walked into the library, and couldn't help himself from running up to them and giving them both a huge hug. He missed them so much. All that time away from them when he was in the soul stone and then just the past 3 days. "How are you holding up, Peter?" MJ asked making Peter tense up a bit.
"Not that well, but I'm getting better a little more each day."
"That's good." Ned said. Then he smiled brightly, "So What is it like living with Tony Stark?"
"It's great." Peter said.
"Really? Just great?" Ned questioned.
"Yeah." Peter said.
"Avengers aside, Peter I thought you said you'd get some sleep?" MJ asked noticing the bags under his eyes.
"I did get some sleep, but I..." Peter stopped mid sentence, remembering his nightmare. It took all his strength to not have a breakdown right in the middle of school. His breathing sped up a little, and he quickly reached the quickest seat and sat down. MJ and Ned started to worry.
"Peter, you know that no one would blame you if you didn't come to school today." MJ said.
"No. No, I have to be at school today. I just want to take all my classes, and do all my work." Peter said almost in a panicky tone.
"Okay. It's okay. It's completely up to you, so you can stay." Ned said.

Later at lunch, Ned and MJ noticed that Peter wasn't eating. He was just picking at his food. MJ hesitantly pointed it out. "I'm just not that hungry. I gotta use the restroom." He said getting up and running out of the cafeteria. MJ and Ned just looked to each other with worried faces.
Peter ran into the bathroom, and puked. He really tried to get May's burned, lifeless body out of his head. He tried so hard, but he couldn't. It felt like the harder he tried to get it out of his memory, the clearer the image was. "Are you okay?" He heard someone say. It was Flash.
"Yeah. I just ate too much." Peter said.
"That's funny because I watched you at lunch, and you barely touched your food."
"Why do you care?"
"Look, I know that I'm mean to you, but that's because, and don't tell anyone I said this, I'm a little jealous of you. You're like super smart, and everyone sees it. Liz does, the teachers do. I mean even Tony Stark does. Anyways, I know what happened to your aunt, and I realize it's only been like three days, and I just want to see if you're okay." Flash said surprising the crap out of Peter.
"I'm fine. It's just been surreal the past three days, and it's like the thought of May being gone forever keeps punching me in the gut, and it just got a little too much."
"Well let's get you cleaned up." Flash said while helping Peter get up. Peter went to the sink and splashed his face with water before drying it off. "Oh and if you tell anyone about this, I will kill you." Flash said.
"Okay. I'm only gonna be a minute. You can go." Peter said forcing a giggle. Flash nodded and left. Peter looked in the mirror, and all he saw was a stranger. A stranger who couldn't take care of himself. A stranger who was scared out of his mind. A stranger who couldn't protect the last living family member he had. Peter hated this stranger. He quickly looked down to the sink and left the bathroom. He went back to lunch.
"You okay?" Ned asked.
"I'm fine."
