MJ went back to the room, and Peter remained outside so he could calm down a bit. "Is he okay?" Ned asked.
"He will be." MJ said.
"What's wrong with him?" Betty asked.
"He was one of the ones that disappeared from the snap." Tony said.
"Wait what why didn't we know?" Flash asked
"Because May wouldn't believe that he was 'dead'. She was in denial, and she wouldn't make it public." Tony said. He remembered back to when he had to tell her that her nephew was one of the ones that the snap took.
He stood outside May Parker's apartment trying so hard to prepare himself to tell her about Peter. He knocked and she opened the door, when she saw him, she immediately shook her head. "Where's Peter? Tony, where is he? Tell me he wasn't-" she fell into Tony's arms and sobbed. Then she pushed herself out of his arms, "This is all your fault, if you never gave him that stupid suit, and encouraged him to fight crime, he would still be here." She was hitting him.
"I'm sorry May." He said and walked away only going around the corner before leaning against the wall and crying.
"His 'death' was different. I was there when he, you know, and he felt everything. He felt, not only his death, but everyone who was taken's death. It took a toll on him, and sometimes when he's here, he's not here, and losing his aunt only made it worse, and now there's a criminal after him. A powerful criminal." Tony said.
"Why would a criminal be after him?" Flash asked.
"Because I adopted him, and they're trying to get to me." Tony lied.
"I never knew about all that." Betty said.
"No one did except for me, Ned, and Tony. He didn't tell anyone." MJ said.
"Whats this criminal capable of?" Flash asked.
"Well for one, that shooting at that party, he controlled that kid who shot everyone, and the killed him. Then he started going after Peter, and got inside his head, mainly in his dreams. Said he was gonna kill me, Ned, and Tony. That's why he started looking like crap, because he wouldn't allow himself to sleep. That only made his brain more vulnerable, and Mysterio, that's this guys name, got inside his head and messed with his memories. He made Peter think that he killed May, and then he made Peter go after us. Tony put something and Peter's head that's helping him be able to block Mysterio, but yesterday Musterio came back, which is why he came here." MJ said.
"We probably shouldn't of told you, but y'all need to be aware that you could be in danger."
"I'm in danger, noted." Flash said.
Peter came back in, and walked past them. He went over towards Tony's suit case, and pulled out a gun. Then he put it against his head. "I guess since I'm only going after Peter to get to you, then I should just end his miserable life now. Right?" The words were coming out of Peter's mouth, but they weren't his words. "He still feels himself dying on Titan, his aunt, his only living family member, died, and to top it all off I'm going after him. I mean he tried to do this in a completely different way a couple months ago, so why not make him succeed this time. It's not like he hasn't thought about doing it by his own will lately. He's suffering, and you all know it, so why don't I make him pull the trigger."
"Don't do this Mysterio, please don't do this." Tony begged.
"Tony Stark, begging, I am pleased."
"Why don't you come here and face me you coward." Tony yelled. Then Peter dropped the gun and fell to the ground, then the doors flew open, and someone came through. A man in a ridiculous costume, and a fish bowl on his head.
"I dare you call me a coward." He said.
"Mysterio?"
"Yes, in a flesh. Now since I'm going after you, I guess I'll just take you." He grabbed tony by the shoulder and there was a flash and they were gone. MJ ran to Peter, and felt for a pulse.
"He doesn't have a pulse. Call 911!" She said then started CPR. As she started CPR, the Avengers had showed up. Ned told them what happened, and they, except Bucky, left to go track down Mysterio and Tony.
