The Announcement
"WHAAT?!" she shouted angrily. Shaking her head in disbelief. "No Mom!... No..."
She plopped down on the couch unceremoniously. She placed a hand on her temple, massaging it slowly as she drown in the information and hoping that her migraine will go. She can't believe it! She's going to be married! Not even to the person she loves. But to, no other than, her hatest person in the world! And her mother is even happy, no, she's much more than happy with it. She's absolutely loving it!
She looks at her mom who sat across of her. "Please Ma, not him. Kahit sino wag lang siya." she pleaded. Hell. She would even kneel if she has to! Just to get herself out of this predicament.
Her mother looked at her with a look, they both know, she wouldn't be able to resist. "I'm sorry but it's true, baby. There's nothing wrong with it anyway."
"Ma! For Pete's sake! I hate him to death!" she shouted.
"And why is that?" her mom challenged her.
She was stunned with the question. She hadn't saw her mom asking her that. Heck. She was unprepared. Too unprepared to come up with an answer right away.
She looked down at her fingers. "I just hate him... I hate him for being him." she said in whisper. Not even aware of her mother's amused look at her.
"You can't hate someone without reasons, baby." her mom reasoned well.
She fight the urge to bit her fingers. "He's a jerk!" she said venomously. "A heartbreaker. A mother-fucker. He plays with girls and their hearts. I hate him for that."
"And I'll be glad as hell to change that point of view of yours."
Her head snapped towards the door and there the man they're talking about personified. He was leaning on the door frame with that playful, challenging smirk on his face. And she hates the way he looks at her.
"Lucifer." she spat. As if his name is even a curse.
He smirked. "Nice too meet you, Seraphim, or should I say my soon-to-be wife?"
