The Announcement (Part 2)

Third Person

It came to her like a bomb. The words her mother said, she knew deep inside, it was the truth. The painful truth she's keeping all her life. Keeping safe in a vault deep inside her heart where no one will ever notice and nowhere to be able to have a way out. Well, that's what she thought. Obviously, she hadn't been careful enough and now, it's slapping her back to reality. She should have known that her mother would be able to unveil it.

Yes. She was in love. Still in love with him. With the person who she hates as well. But she can't and won't risk it again. Ever. That is what she had promised that moment, her heart was broken for the first time.

"Ano bang pinagsasabi mo, Ma? Me? In love? With whom?" she laughed sarcastically. She knew she's denying. And she will deny it until the end.

Her mother looked at her and shook her head once more. A sorrowful look on her face. "We both know what and who I am talking about, princess."

"Absolutely I have no idea."

"Stop lying, princess." her mother looked at her. "And accept it."

"I'm not lying." she lied again. Gosh. She knew she's going to be in hell for sure, but it's the only thing she could do. Lie. "I don't really have any idea who's this guy you're talking about."

Her mother smile knowingly. "If you say so, my dear. Then so be it. But remember, princess, lying to oneself is terminal."

"I know."...but it's like sending myself to my own grave if I don't. She added mentally.

Unbeknownst to her, a lone figure was currently staring intently at her from the small chink at the door since she had forgotten to lock it close. And that didn't pass the eyes of her mother who was now having a hard time pretending not to smile as she look at the two individuals before her.

I hope she'll realize it soon. As it was all for her own happiness. Her mother thought silently.

"So who's this guy anyway?" Allison asked breaking the silence. She had to know who so she can do something to make the guy back off. She knew bribing is wrong but wrong or not, she doesn't care anymore. It's her life and freedom at stake.

Her mother's smile widened and her eyes sparkled. Knowing that look, she mentally groaned. "Oh you finally asked!"

"Well?" she asked impatiently as she planned her tactics and strategies in her mind.

"It's none other than," she's smiling inside as she continue to formulate solutions. Only to get everything burned down the moment she heard the name. "...Wade Lucifer Alvarez." her mother said enthusiastically making her jaw drop in an instant.

"WHAAT?!" she shouted angrily. Lucifer? Him? Shaking her head in disbelief. "No Mom!... No..."

She plopped down on the couch unceremoniously. She placed a hand on her temple, massaging it slowly as she drowns in the information and hoping that her migraine will go. She can't believe it! She's going to be married! Not even to the person she loves. But to, no other than, her hatest person in the world! And her mother is even happy, no, she's much more than happy with it. She absolutely loves it!

She looks at her mom who sat across of her. "Please Ma, not him. Kahit sino wag lang siya." she pleaded. Hell. She would even kneel if she has to! Just to get herself out of this predicament.

Her mother looked at her with a look, they both know, she wouldn't be able to resist. "I'm sorry but it's true, baby. There's nothing wrong with it anyway."

"Ma! For Pete's sake! I hate him to death!" she shouted.

"And why is that?" her mom challenged her.

She was stunned with the question. She hadn't seen her mom asking her that. She's not even sure how she could answer that without telling everything. And if it meant everything, it will be every sing damn thing. Heck. She was unprepared. Too unprepared to come up with an answer right away that might reasonable enough without spilling forth the truth. Everything that she had built inside her head crashed down the instant the name was revealed. And it didn't give her any good with this question.

She looked down at her fingers. "I just hate him... I hate him for being him." she said in whisper. Not even aware of her mother's amused look at her.

"You can't hate someone without reasons, baby." her mom reasoned well. And she knew it as well. She doesn't know how to word her thoughts. "Especially for being themselves."

She fought hard the urge to bit her fingers. "He's a jerk!" she spat venomously. "A heartbreaker. A mother-fucker. He plays with girls and their hearts. I hate him for that." ...and I loathe him for hurting them. She added mentally.

"And I'll be glad as hell to change that point of view of yours."

Her head snapped towards the door and there the man they're talking about personified. He was leaning on the door frame with that playful, challenging smirk on his face. And she hates the way he looks at her.

"Lucifer." she spat. As if his name is even a curse. Heck. He was, in all truths, her curse ever since they met. "What are you doing here?"

He smirk. "Nice too meet you too, Seraphim, or should I say my soon-to-be wife?"

She could feel her body shivering with anger, fear, disgust, and most of all hatred. Her emotions are in chaos. Her hands balled into a fist. 'What on Earth did I do to have something like this?' she asked silently.

"Soon-to-be-wife my ass, Cifer!" she shouted angrily. Smirking at the words she used as she saw the shock look on both his and her mother's face. Silently thanking and cursing her friends. "There's no way in all seven hells I'll marry you!"

Wade was shock hearing her words. He hadn't known it to be in her to use those kinds of words. Hindi niya inakala na ang babaeng nasa harapan niya ang dating kababata na hindi nagmumura. But then, his shock was turned into amusement. And a smirk curled again into his lips.

"Then come hell or high water, Raphie, you'll be my wife." he said with conviction leaving the two woman – one with a triumphant smile, the other, a jaw drop.
