The week had flown by fast along with the fallen leaves, and it was now the night before Halloween. Daisy had decorated the cafe at the beginning of the week, so now cute spider and bats were plastered against the wall.

Luna had gotten in around 5 minutes ago, as always, is the first one there. She took the chairs off the table and wiped down the counters. She prepped some of the food and did a number of other things to get the place in tiptop shape.

The bell above the door had rung, signaling that Daisy had come inside.

"It's so fucking cold outside," Daisy exclaimed, wrapping her coat around her body tighter.

"It's autumn, the winds are a bitch," Luna stated, handing Daisy a coffee.

Daisy took a sip thanking Luna and heading into the back office to set her things down.

"Are to any parties tomorrow night?" Daisy asked leaning against the counter.

"I actually am." Luna smiled at Daisy. It was always a struggle for her to go out and make plans. She wasn't really a huge fan of social outings. She prefers staying inside drawing or writing or watching TV.

"Wow, you're a big girl now," Daisy said in a childish voice and pat Luna's head. Luna rolled her eyes and went to unlock the cafe door for Max and Justine.

"Bloody hell," Justine muttered about the wind, as soon as she stepped into the cafe.

"I think today I'll have one of those pumpkiny drinks," Harry stated once he got up to the counter.

"Wow, I never thought I would see the day where you switched your drink." Luna laughed while putting his order through the machine.

"Well all the people are raving about it on twitter, and I want the full Fall experience." Harry teased.

Luna handed him his drink and took the next customers order before she sat down and joined him.

"Let's go out. It's warmer than it was earlier." He stated. They got up and headed outside, not before Max had called them "fucking crazy" for going outside. And Harry was right, it was much warmer than it was hours before.

"I wonder when the leaves will fall off." Luna mindlessly said while looking at the tree.

They were now by the part of the park where there was a jogging trail, and they steadily walked along it. One guy was skateboarding where they were walking and didn't pay any mind to them as they were walking.

"Luna watch out!" Harry called out, pulling her away from the near accident.

The guy's attention was put on them when he heard Harry's voice, and he slowed down and got off his skateboard.

"Sorry guys wasn't watching where I was going." He apologized, scratching the back of his neck.

"It's fine," Harry said as he and Luna started walking again. Luna looked back at the guy, something looked so familiar about him, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She stopped in her tracks and started to walk back to him.

"Hey!" She called out, "Excuse me, I'm sorry this might sound weird, but do I know you?"

He studied her face, pulling his lips in between his fingers, "Luna," he pointed his finger at her. "How have you been?"

She still couldn't figure out who he was, and it was starting to bother her. When he pulled her into a hug, that's when it finally hit. It was Ethan, her ex from back in the day. The one who had cheated on her back in middle school. Hugging him seemed like a bad idea, but she was too nice to decline. By this time, Harry had walked to where Luna was and was watching from the sidelines.

"I've been good." she kindly smiled at him. "And I see you're doing well."

"Yeah, I'm great. Actually, my wedding is on November 6th if you would like to come. If I'm not mistaken, I do believe it's your birthday that day. It's fine if you can't make it, but I thought I would let you know. I tried calling on your old phone, but I guess that you changed your number."

"Yeah, I changed my number a while ago. I'll see if I can make it, but I'm not sure. Who's the lucky lady?" Luna asked, cocking her head to get a better look at him.

"Her name is Ava."

Luna sucked in a deep breath. Could it be that it was the same Ava that Niall was dating a while ago?

"Do you have a photo?" Luna asked.

He nodded his head and pulled out his phone showing her numerous photos of Ava; the girl from the bar and the girl who had broken Niall's heart. She debated whether or not she should tell him that his fiance was cheating on him, but she didn't want to ruin the moment for him. Maybe he knew about it, who knows. And another part of her didn't want to tell him because he had done the same to her back in middle school. Luna was just a little petty.

She wished him the best of luck and headed back to Harry.

"So, was that boyfriend number 2?" Harry smirked putting up two fingers.

"Yup. He cheated on me with my best friend. That one stung a bit."

"Ouch. Hey, I didn't know that your birthday was November 6th."

"I think we passed the whole my favorite color is blue or my birthday is... part of becoming friends thing."

"True."

"He said that he's getting married," Luna stated.

"Good for him."

"Yeah, but it's to Ava."

"Oh shit. Maybe that's why Niall's so upset." Harry scratched the back of his head.

"Poor Niall. Trust me, I know the feeling."

-

So after work, Luna headed to Harry's house. She planned on hanging out with him, and if Niall was around, she wanted to console him, although she didn't know if he knew the real reason why Ava had broken up with him.

"Hiiii." Harry smiled when he opened the door for Luna.

"Hello, my good friend." She walked inside and took notice of the slew of papers on the coffee table and Harry's guitar on the couch.

"Oh sorry about that, I'll clear this up." Harry rushed over to his mess.

"No, it's fine. Do you think I can hear you play the guitar?" Luna swayed back and forth on her toes.

Harry scratched the back of his neck, "Uh sure." He sat on the couch and started to play one of his songs. Luna told him he didn't have to sing, but Harry sang quietly. He tried humming but sooner or later the words started to come out. While he was singing and Luna was lost in the allure of his voice, she took notice of some things.

She took notice of his hands and how the plucked at the strings of the guitar. She took notice of his lips and how they wrapped around every syllable of every word. She took notice in the way his eyes would close on certain notes. And then she took notice to the guitar strap. On it were the patches from the market they went to. Luna had only seen the pride flag and the Beatles patch that he purchased, but she didn't know that he had gotten the same moon patch Luna had gotten.

She smiled to herself at the warm gesture and her heart had skipped a beat. She knew it, she was falling for him. She was now past that stage of denial, she couldn't ignore the burning sting in her heart anymore. It had burned a hole in her heart, and he had taken over.
