Chapter two

The car roared to life when she turned the key. The sound was so smooth and clean. But just as I began to relax in the seat, Kate decided to turn the radio on. Of course it was on like full volume. "Turn the music down!!" my hand were covering my ears.

Looking at me with a sly smile, she turned the dial. "Sorry, you know how deaf I am in the mornings." She wined. And I did. It was like she couldn't hear a thing. "Yeah, yeah. Let's get going"

As the mall came into view my heart began to beat and beat and beat. I didn't know what was wrong. I just knew that I wasn't nervous. I have never felt this way. In an attempt to cool off I rolled down the window. "Hey! Hey! Hey! Roll that back up. It's a bajillion degrees out there!" and she wasn't wrong.

It felt like a heat wave had attacked me when the window had started to go down. My breaths became short and ragged. "Hey! Are you okay!?" I could hear the worry in her voice. "I..." words would not leave my mouth. I felt the car come to a complete stop, and the malls building was just in view. "Mandy don't pass out on me again!" her voice was stern and demanding. Again? What does she mean by again?

When I shut my eyes I felt a warm set of hands touch my burning cheeks. As fast as I felt it, it was gone. "Damn, you're burning." Her shock was so clearly there.

Right before I lost consciousness I heard a deep and calming voice. That person's presence made my skin cool down just slightly. But then I was gone.

Xavier

My beta josh had forced me to help him buy a gift for his girlfriend. She wasn't his mate but he started to give up. Which is understandable. Since we're twenty and still haven't found them. But I won't. It felt like I knew who mine was and I just couldn't remember.

"So, I was thinking maybe a bracelet or something." Josh was thinking about it too much. "Yeah sure man" I know I didn't sound very supportive but I was distracted. I had this feeling in my gut. It wasn't sure if it was good or bad.

This was the third mall we've been to. "How about we try a different place." I suggested. He thought about it and agreed. "Yeah...let's do that" he almost sounded unsure.

As soon as the door to the mall opened a scent flooded my mind. It drove me insane. The scent was almost familiar. But Josh just started sprinting in the direction of the scent. Quickly I raced after him.

As we got closer to the scent I heard a woman yelling. "HELP! SHE WON'T WAKE UP!" the woman was in tears. There was another girl in her arms. She looked beautiful, even in her unconscious state. I noticed Josh staring at the crying women. I knew it.

"Mam she just fainted from heat exhaustion" my voice sounded kind of blunt. "We should take her inside where the air conditioning is" the women still sniffling nodded her head in agreement.

Leaning down I gently pulled the brown haired mistress into my arms. Allowing josh to help the sniffling teary eyed human up. I couldn't remember who she was. Her name was nagging at the back of my head.

I was so focused on getting into the building I almost missed her name being told. "I'm Kate and the unconscious girl is Mandy" Josh was walking with his around the human in a comforting way. His girlfriend wouldn't approve at all. I might as well call her his ex now.

Mandy, where have I heard that name before? Mandy? That's when it hit me. Multiple memories flashing across my eyes. Many in which I didn't even know I had.

Flash! A girl with brown hair storming past me.

 Flash! A threat which left my mouth only to be retaliated by a beautiful yet feisty voice.

 Flash! Sparks erupting across my arm from the slightest touch.

Flash! Bubbly laughter, followed by a cold splash hitting my skin.

Flash! Her giant contagious smile with flour coated face.

Flash! The tears that ran down her face as she drove away in the back of her parents car.

Flash! The heart ache that burned in my chest as I watched her lean over her mother's body with blood covered hands. She took off running. My feet didn't move. I couldn't move. I was stuck. 

Flash!

"Xavier! Dude snap out of it" Josh's voice flooded into my ears along with a sharp pain in my cheek. My eyes fluttered in a blinking motion as I came back to reality. "I know her" I wasn't talking to anyone in particular. "What?" now looking at josh, "I know her, i know Mandy." I've known her for quite some time and yet I forgot completely about her.

I gently set her down on the wooden bench. Brushing the hair from her face I couldn't help but look at her close eyes longingly. I wanted to see her bright green eyes, and her contagious smile.

Mandy

I felt sparks erupt all over my body. It felt nice. I just wanted to stay in this warm embrace for forever. When the sparks stopped, they started again. But this time they were moving across my face. My body temperature went down significantly. My eyes wanted to open so badly. I wanted to know who was causing such a feeling. I wanted to know who it was.

My eyes started to open but closed again after seeing the light. "Mandy, Mandy" a deep yet sweet voice filled my ears. "Mandy open your eyes" I opened them only to come face to face with a tall black haired handsome stranger. I saw his dark blue eyes and then his scent flooded my mind. His familiar alpha sent brought me hurling upwards.

My head collided with his making him step back in pain. My eyes looked around desperately. Spotting Kate I grabbed her hand and made a run for the door.

If you choose to read the non-rewritten next chapter it will not match where this one is going so i don't recommend it but you can if you want.
