Chp. 35 Unpleasant Plans and Fragile Hearts

Jabari's POV

I stood there and scoffed as I watched the boy walk away. This is stupid, I thought. I was only trying to help her out. I sighed and started looking for the only other person that I knew who would hear me out. I made my way back into the school and opened the janitors closet which revealed a sleeping Yurik. He peeked through one of his eyes and groaned.

Yurik: What do you want??? You know I nap around this time. 

I stepped inside and closed the door behind me. "I need to vent real quick," I said as I sat down next to him.

Yurik: What about??

I took in a deep breath. "So, I took a walk last night since I couldn't sleep and stumbled upon Sooyoon. She was running away from a crowd of people with giant cameras and I thought 'what the heck' 'cause... what the heck, right?? I was going to call out to her, but she ran faster than I expected and bumped into me. She was like 'J-Jabari?' and I was like 'yes?'. She explained to me that she wanted to get out of the dorm because she needed fresh air but then a crowd ran to her and started bombarding her with a bunch of questions and comments. Soon, the crowd caught up to us and started throwing questions at me while calling me 'Park Jimin'. Because I wanted to get out of there with Sooyoon as soon as possible, I said 'She's my girlfriend' and then they all gasped and started asking more question but then I quickly pushed my way out of the crowd. After that, Virgilio comes up to me and says stuff like 'Stay away from her' and 'Do you know what you've done? She's in pain because of you' when I clearly tried to help her out."

Yurik: Well, from what I'm getting, you were clueless but tried to help anyways. I mean, it's not entirely your fault, but you should still apologize since she's going through a tough time because of you.

I groaned. "I guess, but Virgilio doesn't seem to understand that. I'm always the bad guy in these situations.."

Yurik: I mean.. He does get super sensitive when it comes to Sooyoon because he likes her... but we still need to get him detached from her as well. We need to get him back home. Our time is running out.

He likes her... Right... I forgot about that... I sighed and sat back. "How are we going to get him detached without hurting him??" I asked, moving my mind off of the fact that Virgilio likes Sooyoon.

Yurik: I don't think there is a way to make him let go of her without him getting hurt...

I rested my head on the cabinet and looked up into the darkness. Now that I'm thinking about it, if we hurt Virgilio, doesn't that mean, we're going to hurt Sooyoon as well?? They're close.. I don't want her to get hurt and I don't want to see her hurt... I felt where my heart was beating and sighed. I don't understand why it's aching...

Selik's POV

As I munched on my snacks and scrolled through this device called cellphone, a chair was pulled out in front of me as a person sat down. I raised my head as my eyes fall into Nuri's. "Can I help you?" I asked, resuming to scroll through my phone.

Nuri: Did you hear about Jabari and Sooyoon???

"Hear what about them??" I asked. He propped his elbows onto my desk and leans forward, closing the outside world from hearing the secret that he was about to spread.

Nuri: Jabari and Sooyoon are together.

I moved back and gave him the "what the fuck" face. "No they're not. Jabari hates Sooyoon and Sooyoon hates him. How can that be true??"

Nuri: It's all over the news articles and the school. Everyone is talking about it. Weren't you there when it happened??? When Jabari told the reporters that she was his girlfriend???
