Ashes (MCU/Loki fan fic)

Talk

You walked into the main room the next morning. You had been avoiding the wing where Loki was held.

You couldn't be close to the villain.

You walked and say Nick talking with Thor.

"It's not just power that Loki craves it vengeance, upon me." Thor said.

"Can you make him tell us where the Tesseract is-"

"No." You answered for Thor as they all turned.  You crossed your arms.

"He can't." You said.

"And you can?" Nick asked.

You audibly scoffed and chuckled a bit.

"Madness." You said. "But I can talk to him."

Nick walked down the steps to meet you. The team sat at the table like usual.

"We don't need a chit chat with a sociopath we need answers-"

"I'm offering deception." You finished. Thor slightly gave you a questioning look.

You sighed and looked down.

"Loki was my friend, but I am willing to use that to my advantage if I can. Even if that means lying to him, his silver tongue won't be far behind mine." You said.

"Then go, go talk to him." Nick said.

"I don't like talking through glass." You said. Everyone slightly seemed shocked at your words.

"You're asking us to let him out?" Thor asked.

"Heavens no." You said and I crossed your arms.

"I want you to put me in."

"That's the dumbest idea I've ever heard." Natasha said.

"How do we know he won't use you as leverage, force us to let him out by using you?" Tony asked.

"Then you let him kill me." You said.

" 'Nala this is madness." Thor said.

"This is your only chance at getting him to tell us where the Tesseract is. Or to reveal his plan."

"He could torture you." Cap said
You turned and began to walk towards Loki's cage.

"I've been through worse."

A dozen shield agents stood behind you, you stood in front of the door or Loki's cage, him eyeing you curiously. Nick opened the door just enough for you to slip in, the guard holding their guns to insure Loki's he'd be shot if he tried anything.

Loki stood on the opposite side of the cage from you. He didn't move. Neither did you.

Nick closed the door.

"Let me make this clear." Nick said. "If you so much as lay a hand on 'Nala, we have her clear orders to drop the two of you." He said. Loki gave you a shocked look, as if you'd sacrifice yourself for these mortals.
