Ashes (MCU/Loki fan fic)

Dinner

You walked into the castle, keeping your cloak on and the hood up. You walked to the foot of the golden throne, and bowed your head.

"My King," You said taking a knee, placing your forearm to your heart. You stood and dropped your hood.

"Shivanaala," Odin Smiled. "A disturbance amongst the realms?"

"A visit to an old friend." You Smiled. He nodded. "I should hope you to stay." He said and stood.

"I haven't made preparations but, it is possible." You said. "Nonsense, you always have a room in this kingdom." He said. You smiled.

"Thank you, sir." You Smiled. "The timing is quite impeccable, I'm sure you've heard of Thor?"

You nodded. "I've caught wind of the event since my arrival." You Smiled. "You are of course invited, It would be an honor for you to stand at the side of the others for the occasion."

Oh my god- oh my god! "It would be my honor sir!" You beamed. Kana. "Gaurds will show you your room, pleased, be at home." He smiled.

"Um, sir?" You said. "Hm?" He hummed. "My friend, I spoke of, if at all possible, may she also attend the ceremony?" You asked.

Please say yes oh dear gods please say yes.

"I see no issue in that." He smiled. You sighed. "Thank you sir." A guard escorted you to your room. Before dinner, you would go back to the village and deliver the news.

Kana was ecstatic, she couldn't decide if she was more excited to see the castle of to see you stand along the royal family.

You got back in time to clean up for dinner. Wearing a beautiful red and gold Asgardian style dress.

You had made your way to the dinning  for super, Odin sitting at the head of the table, Frigga on his right side Thor in his left. All three looked to you and smiled.

Thor Smiled. "So good to see you again shivanaala." He smiled and you nodded. "You too, congratulations." You Smiled and reluctantly sat by him.

Soon after the doors opened again, and Loki entered sitting across you, beside Frigga. You lowered your head to him as you would when royalty enters, as you did to the others when you entered the room.

"My prince." You said and he nodded to you. He hardly ever smiled. Which was a shame. He had such a beautiful smile.

You all began to eat. "I assume you will be attending the ceremony tomorrow?" Thor asked you. You nodded. "Yes, I will." You said.

"She will be standing with us, Frigga will find a place for her to stand." Odin said. "That's wonderful." Thor smiles and stuffed his face. Why Thor meant well, he was arrogant and ignorant all at once.

"I believe there is a spot beside Loki." Frigga Smiled. Loki looked up from his plate, you looked down to yours.

"Perfect, then it's settled." Odin said. Loki gazed to you, you looked to your goblet.

"It is getting late, you need your rest Thor." Frigga said as she stood, you stood as Loki and Thor did.

"Thank you, for dinner your majesty." You Smiled and began to round the table. "Loki, be a gentleman and escort Shivanaala to her quarters." Frigga said.

You looked to Loki and he looked to you. He turned and nodded to his mother then looked back to you extending a hand to the door.

You smiled and walked out as he followed you, then picking a spot by your side. You both walked silently for the first flight of stairs. Rounding the second you finally spoke.

"I'm sorry, about Thor." You said. He looked to you. "Whatever for?" He asked. "I know I have been in your house a great number of times, and I know we've not spoke much, but I also know you don't get along well with your brother." You said.

He seemed tense as you rounded the hall towards your room.

"I mean no disrespect- I apologize if I overstepped." You said. "You didn't." He simply said. You stopped at your door, turning to him as you both stopped.

"Thank you, as well." He said. You looked up to him. "For your concern." He said and you slightly smiled, as did he.

You loved it when he let his guard down. It was extremely uncommon, but it warmed your heart knowing you could partially warm his.

"Goodnight, my prince-" "you can call me loki, please." He said, you smiled. "And you can call me 'Nala." You Smiled, and your heart leaped when he smiled back, he didn't show teeth, but it was a smile.

"As you wish." He said. You opened your door slightly. "Goodnight, Loki." You Smiled "Goodnight 'Nala." He smiled and turned walking away.

You'd been on Asgard many times, for years now. You've never truly conversed with the prince, but his distant- mysterious character always intrigued you.

You changed and crawled into the large bed. Tomorrow was the ceremony.
