Nyssa's POV
I watch her wary expression turn into confusion.
"How is this possible?" she looks around bewildered. "I was on the island."
"You were on Lian Yu. I found you passed out under a bush, just waiting to die. I brought you here to heal and recover." I study her, watching for signs of panic or alarm. She doesn't seem that scared. In fact, she seems curious.
"Why?" Her simple question catches me off guard.
"You seemed in need of help. So I helped." I smile lightly, hoping the answer will satisfy her.
She takes it in and smiles back at me. "Thank you." I nod, unsure on how to respond. She smiles, "I'm Sara."
A knock comes from the door. "Come in." I say. The door opens revealing one of the leagues warriors, Abd al Jabbar.
He bows and begins to speak, "أميرة, who is this stranger?"
"She is none of your concern." My voice is clipped and firm, I feel a strange protectiveness over Sara.
"You made it my concern when you brought her here and possibly endangered our hold operation. She is a liability and needs to be dealt with." He says, glaring at Sara.
"Watch your tone." I say coldly, "I will not have you speak to her like that. She is a guest here and I am your superior. You will not question me."
He takes a step forward, "You must not allow this girl to become a distraction." He takes another step towards Sara.
I move protectively in front of Sara, "You will not touch her, unless you want to face my wrath."
He pulls out a small dagger, and smiles at me. I move quickly and knock the dagger out of his hand. I then grab his arm and move it behind his back, slowly putting more and more pressure on it until a loud snap echos around the room.
He curses and I let go of his arm. It hangs limply by his side, broken. I smirk, he glares at me but doesn't dare say anything.
"I am your superior, and if nothing else, you should respect me. Next time you try to pull a stunt like that, I will make you beg for death. Now, Get out." I say.
He quickly leaves the room, slamming the door behind him. I turn back to Sara. She has curled up against the bedpost, trying to get as far away from me as possible, I presume.
"Please, don't be afraid." I say, slowly walking towards her.
"You just broke his arm." She says, dumbfounded, "He said something you didn't like so you broke his arm." She looks at me with curiosity, "Why do you care if he insulted me?"
"It wasn't just that he insulted you. He questioned my authority. He needed to be punished." I glance over at the door, "It won't happen again."She nods, trying to take it all in. I smile at her weakly, unsure of what to say next.
"Who was he?" She asks finally.
"Abd al Jabbar, a high ranking warrior in my father's..." I try to think of a word that wouldn't scare her. "Organization."
She nods thoughtfully, "You said that you were his superior. How?"
I smile, "I am the heir of the Demon. Second in command to my Father, Ra's al Ghul. Now, you need to sleep and recover. I will answer the rest of your questions once you are healed."
She tries to protest, but I decline, telling her that we have time. Eventually, she complies and falls back asleep.
