Hide & Seek

I opened my bedroom door and put Eren down. Eren ran to the bed and started jumping on it. I walked over to my bed and sat down. Eren stopped jumping and sat next to me. 

"Are you okay Heichou?" Eren asked.

"Yeah." I replied. "I'm more worried about you." 

"I'm fine Heichou. I had fun!" Eren smiled.

"Please don't tell anybody what happened earlier today." 

"I promised." Eren's smile grew bigger. 

"Eren. I will be right back. I'm going to check up on Hanji." I stand up.

"Okay."

"Stay right here." 

"Yes Heichou."

I walked out of that room and walked down the hallway. I knock on Hanji's door. I open it. "Hanji?"

"Hey!" Hanji shouted. She had tubes in her hands. She was playing with liquid. She put them down on a table next to her. She gets up and walks over to me. "What's going on?"

"I just came to check on you. making sure everything is going well. You didn't blow up anything yet. I'm surprised."

"Me too. So how is mini Eren?" Hanji said.

"He's okay. I think." I grinned.

"So you are about to leave aren't you?" Hanji smiled and closed her eyes.

"Yeah. I have a feeling Eren will go looking for me in a minute or two." 

"I bet he would. You know what? I think you are going soft. You have been attached to Eren lately."

"I'm not going soft! I'm just trying to take care of the kid."

"Yeah right. Well, you better go check on him."

I leave the doorway and walk back to my bedroom. I open the door and Eren wasn't on the bed. "Eren?" I said.

I heard giggling then. I knew he was in there. Hiding from me. 

I looked under the bed.

"You found me!" Eren laughed.

"I told you to stay right where you were."

"Sorry. I want to play hide and seek."

I grab Eren and pull him out from underneath the bed.

"We can play as long as you don't leave this room." 

"Then its your turn to hide! I'll count to thirty!"

"Eren. There is nowhere for me to hide. I won't fit anywhere."

"Yes you will. You're shorter than Mikasa."

"You have a point. But I still won't be able to hide anywhere. So why don't you hide, and I will come find you."

"Okay." Eren frowned. 

'What's wrong?"

"I want to play with you Heichou."

"You are playing with me." 

"But I want you to hide."

"Okay. You hide this round and I will try to find a hiding spot the next round."

"Okay!" Eren smiled.

I faced the wall and counted aloud, so Eren could hear me. I thought to myself, I might not be able to find Eren. He is so small. I turned back around and shouted, "Ready or not, here I come!"
