CHAPTER 6: THE WAR CONTINUES

What did he just say? Is Oark and Boon a couple now? Did Boon accepted Oark already?

My goodness, my head is about to explode now. I want to ask Oark if they are officially together but I can't.

Now it's my turn to give my acceptance speech. I don't know what to say actually. I was still thinking of what Oark had said. Then I heard him whisper.

"Hey, it's your turn to speak. Everyone is waiting for your speech"

"What?"

"Beep, you give your acceptance speech now"

"Okay... Uhmm Thank you everyone for voting for me. I am happy to receive this. I'm not feeling well... I'm sorry"

I immediately went down from the stage and went out from the venue. I drove my car as fast as I can.

I felt defeated for the very first time. Oark won he is officially Boon's boyfriend. I turned on the t.v. and saw Oark being interviewed.

"What can you say Oark that you were declared athlete of the year?"

"I feel happy. I am thankful for those who believed in my capabilities as an athlete"

"Beep suddenly left the stage, are you guys not in good terms? Is there any rivalry?"

"As what he said earlier, he is not feeling well. We are not friends neither we are rivals. Our fathers are good friends, so I would say we are civil to each other"

"You mentioned about Boon, are you officially a couple?"

"I think you should ask her. The confirmation or denial should not come from me. Boon and I share a special bond. That's all I can say".

"Since Beep is not feeling well and you said you are okay, do you have any message for him?"

"I hope he will get well soon. I learned that they were able to secure a spot in the International competition slated on Saturday. So I wish him well"

The nerve of that guy. Acting chummy despite of the fact that he stole the girl of my dreams. He wants to show the world that he is a goodie but he is actually not.

The first time we met, he stole my ball and the attention of my brothers. Now, he wanted to overshadow me and steal Boon.

I slept with a heavy heart thinking of what happened. My brother Bin, now a doctor, noticed it and asked.

"Are you okay? I saw your speech on t.v."
"I'm okay Bin"
"You said you were sick. Do you feel any pain?"
"Yes Bin I'm sick and I feel pain"
"Really? Where?"
"Here, in my heart, it's too painful"
"I suggest you take an ECG exam there might be something wrong with your heart"
"No need Bin, no doctor not even you, can cure it"
"Huh? Why? How could you say that"
"It's love sick Bin..."
"You..."

He took the small pillow from my side chair and lob it to me. He then told me I'm crazy but before he left he asked me to go downstairs to have breakfast.

My brother cooked breakfast for me like he always does. He really had that magic touch in the kitchen like our deceased mother.

Bin and I are very close. He really wanted to be a doctor since our mother died of cancer. Though I am heart broken, I was able to smile because of my brother.

I opened the news papers, scanned it and was stuck in the entertainment page. I saw my solo picture, Oark's picture and that of Boon.

The caption was "BOON AND OARK A COUPLE. HOW ABOUT BEEP?"

I crumpled the news paper and threw it into the trash bin.
