CHAPTER 19: REPENTANCE

BEEP's P.O.V

I was able to convince P' Blue to allow P' Bin to see our father for the last time. I don't have any hard feelings towards P' Bin even if he hated me.

Our father was brought to his resting place while P' Bin was imprisoned. Soon enough, Gum, his cohort, was also arrested and incarcerated.

I visited P' Bin in jail to check on how he was. He was cold towards me when I saw him.

"What are you doing here Beep? Did you come to see me suffer?"

"No Pee, I came here to check on how are you? I'm worried about you"

"Stop acting that you're concern Beep because I know you're feeling delighted to see me behind bars"

"No Pee, I'm not happy to see you behind bars, in fact, it crashes my heart. Despite what happened, for me, you're still my elder brother and I don't want you here"

Pee Bin was silent for a moment, he didn't say anything. He was just staring at me waiting for whatever I will say next.

"Pee Bin, you're here because you did something wrong but I believe you just did it out of anger, of frustrations"

"I don't need you here Beep, I'm tired, I wanna go back to my cell"

I held Pee Bin's hand, look at  him in the eyes and spoke.

"Whatever happens Pee, I'm still your brother and you're still my elder brother. I miss the old P' Bin who is close to me, the P' Bin who used to be my playmate when I was a child and the P' Bin who likes and doesn't hate me"

P' Bin was silent but I saw a tear drop from his eyes.

"Pee, whatever wrong you did to me, I already forgive you. I know dad also did. I'm going home now Pee"

I was about to leave when I heard Pee Bin called me.

"Beep, sorry if I hated you but the truth is I was just jealous of you. Beep, i hope it's not too late for us to fix things"

"Pee, I will be waiting for you outside and bond with you again"

That was my last conversation with P'Bin before I left the jail. With a heavy heart, I accepted the fact that he needed to stay there for a while to pay for the consequences of his actions.

I met with Oark later that day at Siam Center before we went to the cemetery to visit my dad and my mom's graves.

"Beep, Where have you been the whole day?"

"I visited Pee Bin in jail"

"What? Why did you went there?"

"It's okay, I just wanted to see his situation in jail."

"So how was your brother, Beep?"

"He is devastated obviously with his current situation. But he has repented and apologised to me"

"Did you forgive him right away?"

"I don't want to hold grudge against him because I know he was just blinded by his anger"

"Still, you can't trust him"

"I know Oark, however, everybody deserves a second chance"

"It's up to you just be careful"

"By the way, I received an invitation from a soccer team in London. They are interested to get me for their team"

"That's a great news! So what's your decision?"

"I don't know yet."

"If I were you, I'll accept it"

"But I can't leave you here. What if you come with me?"

"To London?"

"Yes. Anyway Oark,  you can work there as an engineer"

"I will think about it Beep and I will let you know. I will ask my dad if he will allow me to migrate to London".
