○ chapter twelve ○

"There they are!" Calum yelled when Luke and Cassie walked in to the arrival hall. "Cas!" Michael immediately yelled. Luke dropped the hand he had placed on the small of Cassie's back whilst she walked towards Michael. "I missed you." She said, giving him a big hug.

"Hey mate, we're so happy you're safe." Ashton spoke, hugging Luke. Luke gave a small smile and then also hugged Calum. Cassie hugged the other boys and Luke hugged Michael and so everybody had hugged everybody. "Cab is outside." Ashton said, grabbing Luke's suitcase. Michael got Cassie's suitcase.

Luke and Cassie followed the others towards the doors. "Oh no paps." Calum whispered to Ashton. He bit his lip and turned around. "Luke, where are your sunglasses?" Ashton asked, Luke furrowed his eyebrows and then saw the paps waiting outside. "I'll get them, then kiss me." Cassie said, bending over to get their sunglasses out of her backpacks.

When she handed Luke his sunglasses he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her. "Guys you're good at this but you can also take it a little too far." Michael grinned while poking Cassie and Luke. Cassie grinned and bit her lip. "Let's go." She smiled and made sure she was in the middle of Michael and Luke.

Luke grabbed her hand and held on to it strongly, while they walked outside and almost straight in to the cab. "There we are, everybody got all their toes and teeth?" Calum laughed. Cassie smiled. "Off to the tour bus we go!" Michael clapped excitedly. "I'm so happy you're coming with us, we can finally catch up!" He said very happy and gave Cassie another side hug.

Luke was quiet the entire trip, Cassie and Michael were chatting but every now and then she would look at Luke and she'd catch him staring out of the window in to the distance.

When they arrived to the tour busses, Cassie couldn't wait to see the insides. "There are basically two buses, one is for us and like one assistant of your father to keep us well behaved. And the other one is for the staff and storage with all out equipment." Ashton explained while they walked in to the bus with Cassie first.

"This is so cool!" She said, staring at the inside. "Where's my bunk?" She smiled and followed Michael, who showed her the back of the bus where all the bunks were. "This is so awesome honestly." She said, hugging Michael yet again.

Luke walked towards then and sat down in one of the bunks. "I'm going to take a nap." He said, taking off his jeans and ready to shut the curtain. Michael nodded and walked away. "Why don't you wait until after dinner and go to bed early?" She asked him, whispering so the other boys didn't hear.

"I'm tired now, just wake me up when dinner is here." Luke said, closing the curtain. "Listen I want to be there for you as a friend but I will not be your slave." Cassie said, opening the curtain before she said it and immediately closing it again after she said her sentence.

She walked back in to the main area where the other three boys were on there cellphones. "He's taking a nap." She said, sitting down on the couch. "You're amazing for taking care of him, things could've gone so differently if you weren't here." Ashton said, squeezing her hand.

"Well, even though I like being here with you guys, it feels like all of this is going to be hard." She shrugged, getting a bottle of water. "It'll be allright, we're here now too, he's our best friend we kind of know his thoughts every now and then." Michael said.

"I just hope he'll get happier, we're not the best friends but it's not fun seeing somebody like this." She said. Everybody got quiet after that.

They chilled in the main area for a while until one of the management assistants walked in. "Laura! Exciting you're here." Calum smiled, winking at her. The lady, who apparently is called Laura, walked in while ignoring Calum. "Hi there." She smiled and walked over to Cassie. "I'm Laura, I'll be on this bus too." She smiled.

"Great to have another woman here, I feel a little less lonely." She smiled. "I understand, that's why I offered your dad that I should do it for the rest of the US." She smiled again. "That's so nice! Thank you." Cassie said. "If you need anything, just let me know." She smiled and sat down while then looking at a few messages. "Where's Luke?" She then asked. "He's taking a nap." Cassie answered, Laura nodded.

"Reggie, the stage manager,  will be here in about ten minutes with dinner, do you mind waking him up?" Laura asked Cassie and she nodded, "of course". She got up and walked over to the place with all the bunks. She opened a part of the curtain and saw Luke asleep. "Luke." She whispered, shaking him a bit.

After a little bit of groaning he answered with more groaning. "Dinner will be here in a few minutes, you coming?" He groaned a little bit more and then opened his eyes, staring straight in to the eyes of Cassie. "Yeah." He said, sitting up and putting on his sweatpants. Cassie waited while leaning against the other side of the bunks.

"Done." He said, jumping out of his bunk and showing Cassie a small smile. "That nap did you well." She smiled, while walking back towards the main area, Luke following her. "Hey Luke." Laura smiled. "Hey Laura." He smiled back. She got up and walked over to them. "Cassie if you could sit in Luke's lap while you're eating dinner we can snap a picture and leak it. She said, giving a reassuring smile. "Uhm, okay." Cassie said, not sure how to respond to this.

Luke sat down on the couch and Cassie sat down on his lap. Reggie arrived a couple of seconds later with some take away pasta's. While the two were eating their pasta, Laura looked over at them. Cassie noticed her staring, wit her phone in one hand. "She wants to take a picture." Cassie said to Luke.

Luke looked at Laura for a second and then put his hand in Cassie's neck and laying their foreheads against each other. "Is this okay?" He asked her. She nodded. "Don't really have a choice." She said, shrugging. Laura was still holding her phone so Cassie gave Luke a quick peck.

After the peck, the phone disappeared and Cassie realised this was indeed her life for the upcoming months.
