"I've got to go in to rehearsal." Luke said, looking behind him. Cassie saw a figure in the background, probably some stage manager rushing him. "Well alright, I'll call you when I land." Cassie smiled. "Great, if I don't answer I'll be in rehearsal but I'll see you in the hotel." Luke answered. "Alright good luck, I'm almost at LAX." Cassie smiled. "Thank you, see you soon." Luke smiled back and ended the FaceTime call.
They had somehow still talked every day, and it felt weird. But somehow it had become natural to talk to each other so much, since they saw each other almost every second of the day.
Cassie had said goodbye to Ruby and Willow at home and was now almost at LAX airport, ready to fly to St. Paul, where tomorrow there would be another show. She was excited to get back, she kind of missed the touring, she got pretty close with all the boys and she was happy Luke and her made up right before she left so their friendship would be great to work on during the upcoming weeks.
When she arrived at the airport she thanked the taxi driver and walked in to it. She noticed at least one photographer shooting pictures of her. Quickly she walked in to the airport and over to check in her luggage. The flight was about six hours and she had a book, her laptop and her music to use when she was bored, but still flying alone had some kind of boredom with it.
###
There were still around fifteen minutes left of the flight and the landing had already started. Landings were always a little frustrating for Cassie, she hated the turbulence and usually she wasn't the only one. There was always some kind of feeling of all the people together, hoping everything went well.
After they finally landed, Cassie waited for a little until she could walk out of the airplane and started her walk over to bagage reclaim. Again, something she could get annoyed by, since it sometimes took so long until the bagage was there. She stood there waiting for a while until some girl walked over.
"Hi, I was wondering if you could take a picture with me." She asked while smiling with a big smile. Cassie furrowed her eyebrows until she realised it was because Luke had made her slightly famous. "Uh sure." She smiled and shot a selfie with her. "Thank you so much!" The girl said. "Could you tell the boys that I love them?" She smiled again. "Sure." Cassie laughed and the girl walked away after thanking her.
This was part of Cassie's life from now on. Sometimes she noticed people recognising her, especially in Los Angeles, people knew who she was and every now and then there would be paparazzi, but this was the first time a fan asked for a picture. Then she noticed her luggage and she got it off of the band.
She walked over and out of the gates and in to the airport. It was a very busy evening in the Minneapolis airport. She walked over to the taxi rink and put her bags in to the trunk and then gave the driver the address of the hotel she would be staying at for the night. It was a quiet taxi ride, which Cassie obviously didn't mind.
She decided to ring up Luke to see if he was still in rehearsal. After a few rings he answered with a sigh. "Hey." He answered. "Hi, you okay?" Cassie laughed and wondered what was going on. "Yeah we just finished a song so I'm a little out of breath." Luke laughed. "I am in my taxi on the way to the hotel, I'll be there in like 20 minutes or something." Cassie told him. "Great, we just finished rehearsing so we're going over to the hotel in a few minutes. I'll pick you up in the lobby." Luke replied. "Great, see you in a bit." Cassie answered and hung up.
They finished the drive to the hotel, and when she got there it was filled with paparazzi. It looked like they were leaving and walking away, until they realised who was in the cab, they all started mobbing the taxi. "Oh my god." She started saying. "Miss, it wouldn't be safe if you walked in to this." The driver said and looked at her. "I'll go call my uh- boyfriend and see if he can fix some security." Cassie replied.
"Luke, I'm getting mobbed, this is scary." Cassie said, actually terrified when he answered the phone. She kept staring outside, getting blinded by the flashes. "I'll ask for security, we just arrived so that's why it's so crowded. We're all in the lobby." He replied. "I'll stay on the phone while you go through the crowd okay?" He told her. "Thank you." Cassie replied and let out a sigh of relief.
After a minute or so the door was opened by a man wearing black, she recognised him and realised it was the security. There was another one getting her stuff out of the trunk and another one trying to keep the paparazzi away. "Oh my god." Cassie whispered. "Stay calm, it's a short walk." Luke said through the phone.
"Almost there." He said when Cassie started walking and was surrounded by the security. The people were yelling all kinds of things and rumours, but Luke's comforting words made it easy to not focus on them. One of the guards opened the door and Cassie almost jumped in. She immediately saw Luke and rushed over to him. She gave him a hug and they stood there for a few seconds.
"That was so scary." She said in to his chest. "It's okay." He said and wrapped his arms tighter around Cassie. "Thank you for comforting me." Cassie said when they let go of each other. "Of course, I wish I had somebody like that the first few times we got mobbed." Luke grinned. "You okay again?" He asked and Cassie nodded, taking a deep breath.
"The other boys already went up to the penthouse to shower." Luke said while grabbing Cassie's hand and one of her suitcases. Cassie then got her carry on and backpack and they walked over to the elevator.
Luke did not know if Cassie felt it, but he felt something in his stomach. It felt great to be able to comfort her like that. He felt needed, he was there for Cassie because she needed him at that moment. It made him feel good that a pretty girl like her needed somebody like him for something.
