HOW TO TAME A PLAYBOY

Chapter 9 : Rule #4

They stayed in Cebu for three days taking advantage of the chance to visit some places that Aldrich haven't visited yet despite being always in the country. Within that three days, Xandie felt happiest the most. Aldrich is the perfect boyfriend and during the entire time that they're together he never paid attention to any other woman not even a single glance. He's proving to be an ideal boyfriend...not even a trace of being the playboy.

He's a bit possessive though, just like before, he's always scowling whenever there are other men around her. Possessive fool, as if those men will be able to capture her interest when he already took it all for himself.

When they return to Manila, Aldrich's first agenda is visiting her parents to tell them about their relationship. Of course her mother is ecstatic, that finally, she has a boyfriend. If it's only possible, no doubt her mother will propose to Aldrich in her behalf.

Aldrich stayed the same, as if he is still courting her. Still showering her with gifts, and still annoying her with his extravagance sometimes, but Xandie learned to live with it, it's a part of him. The man will never change, so the best way to deal with him is just to let him do whatever he pleases.

Xandie tries to be an understanding girlfriend. She never tries to control him, nor be clingy to him. She knows that Aldrich is used in doing whatever he pleases and just because she's his girlfriend didn't give her the right to control him.

She never gets jealous easily whenever she sees him talking to a woman nor asks about it. She waits for him to tell her about it voluntarily. She's willing to give him the chance to show her, that indeed, he can be a faithful and honest boyfriend. She doesn't want to pressure him to prove to her that he can be faithful.

She can be the most understanding girlfriend if only to keep him with her.

Hmmmmmm......living by the fourth rule huh. Xandie sometimes feels that everything is still not real....she and Liza were just discussing the rules not so long ago and she didn't even believe that those rules will work to her advantage, but despite not deliberately applying those, she's able to get her man. But did she really changed him by making him work to get her or did he change on his own to have her?

Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore, what's important is that they're happy and that they are trying their best to make their relationship work. It's been weeks and their relationship is going smooth and getting stronger each day. Hopefully it stays that way......

"Sweetie, your date is here", her mother said as she pokes her head on her room.

It's Aldrich's grandmama's 75th birthday celebration and of course she's his date. Her parents are also invited but they can't attend because they will be attending another celebration.

"How do I look Ma?", she asks as she twirls before her mother's eyes.

"Beautiful as always darling....I'm sure Aldrich will be smitten more"

"Hmmmmpppp, you really like him"

"Of course darling, he is perfect for you"

"Despite his reputation as a playboy? A first class rake?"

"Sometimes, the reports are exaggerated, and haven't you heard about the saying that reformed rake makes the best husband?"

"Aren't you being biased?"

"Of course not, believe me darling, he is the perfect man for you. Look at you, you've grown more beautiful since you two started going out together. Go now, and don't make him wait long", her mother said then left her.

Xandie just smiled at what her mother said  then look at the mirror once more before going down.

Aldrich held his breath when he saw Xandie walking down the stairs.She's so breathtakingly beautiful, she literally took his breath away.
