"What ride next, boys?"
I hear Lewis talking with his friends, Ryan, Ryes, Baz, and Will, while we sit on a park bench trying to calm down from the latest rollercoaster. There were so many twists, turns, and flips that I almost got sick halfway into it. But it was a really great ride.
"How about that one, over there", I say, pointing to a haunted house ride. "That seems fun."
The others look over as well, their faces seeming to ponder on it.
"Sure. Seems fun", Will said. Geez. He's so unenthusiastic sometimes.
"Great! Let's go guys", said Ryan. "I've been wanting a scare since we arrived."
"Yea", Baz replied. "Good find, Lizzy."
I smile. "Thanks."
Lewis stands up beside me and stretches. "I think my limbs are ready for one more ride before we eat."
"Yeah. Let's do this!", came Ryes.
We all start walking together toward the ride. Lewis was holding the camera up to a giant, creepy, wooden structure, saying, "I'm getting scared already, guys."
I nudge him. "You'll be fine, Lewis. This probably won't be so bad!"
Ryan looked around. "I kinda have to disagree with you, Lizzy. This place is creepy as heck."
"Yeah. Now my limbs are screaming at me to stay away from this place", Lewis said.
"Look on the bright side! At least it's not FNaF themed." I say. "No animatronics jumping out a-".
At that moment, a giant robotic bird pops out of nowhere and screeches, making me scream like a little girl.
Everyone in the party starts laughing, Will's snort standing out. "Be careful of what you say", he says in between snorts. "Or else a BEAR will come next", he yells the word bear in my face. I huff.
"Alright, guys", I say, ignoring the comments from the others. "Let's just get on with it."
Afterward
"Oh, geez. I don't feel good...", I complain, holding my stomach in pain.
"Like, sick? Or cramps?", Lewis asked.
"Not in public!", I hiss at him through clenched teeth. "That's a private thing. Common sense, man!"
"Sorry. But seriously, how bad is it?", he asks.
"Maybe really bad. She went pale halfway through the ride and stopped screaming. That's never a good sign", Ryan says, walking over to us. "Where's the closest restroom, Razz?"
Ryes looked over the map for a few moments and his eyes stopped their hunt. "Not too far from here. About a block or two that way", he says, pointing near a candy machine.
"Alright. Let's hurry", Lewis says, putting his arm around my shoulders and guiding me away from the group toward the bathrooms.
We get there, and I'm about ready to explode. I run inside, thanking God there were stalls and not a one-person bathroom. My stomach was about ready to destroy itself. My throat starts filling up with acid and I vomit. A lot.
The dry heaving was the worst part. My stomach kept pushing like there was more to get rid of, even though it was bone dry. It was the most uncomfortable feeling I've ever had.
I get up, flush the toilet, and go up to the sink to wash my hands. I look in the mirror. The person staring back at me looked horrifying. Her face was extremely pale. Her eyes, though, looked dead. I rinse my mouth to get the foul taste out. I wish I brought my toothbrush. If vomit stays on the teeth for a long time, or if there's a lot of it, the acid will start to kill your teeth. Just a fun fact.
The pain was still there, but it wasn't throbbing. I walk back outside to see the gang waiting for me.
How nice. But I don't want to be worried about. It was just a little sickness. Nothing too bad.
Right?
"Lizz! Oh, my God, you look awful", Lewis says, concern clear in his voice. "We should get you home right away."
I shake my head. "I'm fine, Lewis. I can continue."
"No, you can't", Will cut in. "You look like hell. You need to go back to the cabin."
"Ugh", I groan in annoyance. "Guys, really. I'm fine. I'll be okay once we get to the restaurant. Just please don't bug me about it."
"As your brother, I have a right to bug you about it, Lizz. You won't hear the end of it", Lewis says, putting his arm around my shoulders before we walk off.
"Yeah. And as a friend of your brother, I do too", said Baz.
"Me, too", came Ryan's comment.
"Don't leave me out of it!", said Ryes.
Here we go, again.
"Geez. Please just... Don't talk about it. For the sake of humanity, please don't", I nearly beg them to stop.
"Alright, alright. We'll stop. We were just teasing", Lewis says. "You know how fun it is to tease you?"
"What, because I'm a girl?"
"Exactly", Will said. "It's fun to tease girls. Especially you." He lightly punches my arm, though it didn't feel light.
"Ow, dude! That hurt!"
"My point exactly."
What point? I don't even know.
"Anyway, we're here", Ryes says, stopping in front of a huge building. My stomach growls, hungrily. It must be over its sickness episode.
"Great. I'm starving!", said Lewis. He took his arm off my shoulders and opened the door for us. As I walked by, I said, "Thank you", and looked up.
The place was incredible! There were coaster tracks in the air, little carts of food on them going to tables and serving. I couldn't imagine myself working here, though. The constant rolling of the carts would bother me to the brink of insanity.
We find an empty table big enough for us and we sit, filling our memories of this beautiful place. I sit between Will and Lewis, fully aware of what might, no will, happen later after we get our food.
"This place is amazing", I hear Ryan say, two seats down. "You chose a good place, Will."
"Thanks", Will replied. He looked at me and nudged my arm. "Don't order anything big. You don't want to throw up again, right?"
"You're not my mum", I snap. "I can get what I want. I'm old enough to make my own decisions."
He shrugs. "You've been warned, Lizzy Dawkins."
Why didn't I take the warning seriously?
I roll my eyes. Lewis pokes my nose. "Don't let him get to you. Try to have fun, at least." He pats my back lightly. "Remember what mum told us?"
"'Don't let life ruin your ways, but let your ways make a good way towards life'. Yeah, I remember", I reply. "I miss her. And Dad."
"Me too, Lizz. Me too."
A/N:
Just wanted to say something:
The prologue is not accurate with the video. I just took scenes from it to make this part. Don't hate me for this.
Hope you guys will understand.
Did you catch the song lyric(s)? Comment if you did!
