"What's wrong?"
"It... It's Raz", he finally said. "Something's wrong with him."
"What do you mean something's wrong?", Will says, his aura now turning purple. I rub my face in nervousness.
Ryan wipes his tears away and stands upright, though still looking a bit shaken. "You need to come and look. C'mon." He turns to lead us inside, but stumbles and clutches his lower leg, writhing in pain.
"Ryan!" I immediately kneel next to him. "What happened?!"
Will was inside already, so I had to tend to Ryan myself.
He didn't say anything as I helped him sit against the wall and pull his pant leg up. My eyes grew.
His leg had a gash that stretched from his knee to his ankle. It was bleeding profusely.
"Stay here. I need to grab a couple things," I say, my voice shaking a bit. He only nodded as I turned to go inside.
When I opened the door, I heard voices coming from the back room. Though I wanted to know what was happening, I needed to make it my first priority to help Ryan.
I grabbed my first-aid kit from under the sink and hurried back to Ryan, who had turned pale in the moonlight.
I opened the kit as I settled down and pulled out the small pocket knife. Ryan had looked away as I tore fabric from my shirt to put it around his wound. The night breeze hit my skin and I shivered, trying to ignore it.
He winced in pain as I applied the makeshift bandage and taped it down. "Try not to move too much. I need to call the hospital, so just sit tight."
He grabbed my hand before I could get to my phone. "Don't...", he said in a faint whisper. He almost looked... relieved? I looked down at his wound.
The bleeding had already stopped.
I furrowed my brow. "What..." Without thinking, I tore the bandage off of his leg to reveal the now-closed wound, though not fully healed. I look up at Ryan, who was now sitting up in a comfortable position and grabbing the rubbing alcohol and cotton balls from the first-aid kit.
I stop him. "What did you do?"
He looks at me quizzically. "What do you mean? It healed on it's own. It's not my doing."
I slap the medical supplies from his hands and they go flying across the balcony. I grab the collar of his shirt and bare my teeth in his face.
He sits there, barely flinching from my sudden aggressiveness,
I notice this, and feel shocked, but I don't stop as I shake him and demand how he did it.
He seemed to not be at all shaken by my outburst and grabbed my wrists, gently pushing me away, though I still slighty fought against it.
"Lizzy," he said, sternly. "You need to calm down. This aggression is getting to your head and you need to stop fighting."
It took me a second to process what he said and I stopped fighting. I stared at him in shock, trying to process everything else.
His wound healed quickly. My sudden aggression. That weird incident with Charlie and Cratchet. All in one day.
It can get into your head real easily. Once it does, it's hard to remove.
Ryan removes his hands from my wrists and I stand, moving away from him and the front door, hitting the railing behind me. I lean against it and grab it with one hand, the other pressed against my forehead in slight pain. A headache was coming on.
