The feeling of the wind against my face is relieving. I don't think there could be anything better than this.

By my side, Lewis and Will run with me, their tongues lolling out in excitement. I suppress a chuckle and continue running. I'm running so fast I can hardly feel the ground.

Only a meter away is our lunch, and we're all hungry for a little venison.

Lewis veers left, while Will and I continue straight. Our plan is for Lewis to push the deer's direction towards us, then Will will turn right and trap the deer.

I could already smell the sweet aroma of fresh-kill as we near on our prize. Once Will and I get close enough, Will veers right and runs ahead. From a distance, I can see Lewis crouching, waiting for the moment to strike.

The deer doesn't seem to sense him. It's probably too focused on running away from me. I make a wolfish grin of satisfaction as Will prepares to jump.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

The snarling of the wolves pulls me from my vision. They're still circling each other, their eyes gleaming with malice. I look around for Will. Did he just... disappear? Or did one of the wolves get him? My heart races in panic. He can't be dead!

No no no no!

He said be quiet, but I couldn't help the scream coming out of my mouth at that moment.

A moment later, growling and barking erupt outside the car. A bang rattles me and I scream again. Apparently, one of the wolves had hit the car and left a huge crack in the window and a dent in the door.

The tears start flowing without my realizing and I whimper pathetically. This can't... can't be happening...

Not knowing what else to do, I just stare as the fight ensues.

The large black wolf has the light grey one pinned and is just snarling at it, as if... communicating to it. The light grey wolf seems to understand and the black one gets off, allowing the grey one to get up and shake its fur.

And like that, the fight was over.

Then, after a moment of looking at each other, they both look towards me.

My breathing hitches as they both stroll towards me.

Holy sh-

I reach over the front seat to lock the car, but the left rear door was pulled off of its hinges by the black wolf with ease. I scream and scramble to the other side of the car, but the grey wolf was there, too.

This is too much.

I could feel my body temperature raise drastically, sweat forming on my exposed head.

The last thing I see are the black wolf's sea-blue eyes as I black out.

The light of my bedroom window gleams brightly, blinding me when I wake up. The window panes are open, letting in a cool breeze that seems to leave a calm atmosphere.

But that atmosphere quickly shatters as I remember yesterday's events.

The bed rocks as I sit up with a jolt. Will's possibly dead. Ryan and Razz are maniacs. Charlie seems to be working for a maniac, and I keep getting these visions of...

Of...

"I...", I whisper. "I was... running..."

The sound of heavy footsteps thunders up the stairs and my door slams open. I barely flinch.

"Lizz! Oh, my goodness!"

Lewis is instantly by my side and he hugs me, sobbing.

"Do you know how scared I was when Will brought you home and you were unconscious?" He sniffs and leans away to looked at my shocked face "I was so scared... I thought you were..."

I shake my head and touch his face. "I'm fine, Lewis."

"No, you're not", he says, letting me go and standing. "You had a fever when you arrived home last night and you were sweating profusely. I won't allow you out of bed..."

I wasn't listening. My mind was wandering to was Lewis said earlier.

"Do you know how scared I was when Will brought you home and you were unconscious?"

When Will brought me home?

I breathe. "He... he's alive?"

Lewis looks at me for a second, his brow furrowed. "Who's alive?"

The blankets go flying off the bed as I race downstairs in a frenzy.

Lewis's sad attempts to calm me down and get me back upstairs only make my behavior worsen, because the next thing I know, I'm pulled off of Lewis, who is, for some reason, struggling to breathe and rubbing his neck, and being held away from him by strong arms.

Did I just...

"Liz."

"Liz!"

"Elizabeth!"

"LIZZY!"

Finally, I truly open my eyes. I can see them now. Who they really are.

They are werewolves. I can see their marks. The Mark of the Wolf.

All on different places on their bodies.

Lewis stands in front of me, nodding.

Will stands to his left, smiling.

Ryan to his right, smirking.

The vision fades as fast as it had came.

I'm sitting limp on the couch, head on someone's shoulder.

A familiar voice rouses me further from sleep. Will's hand finds mine as he says, "I think it's about time we visited the Council of Packs."
