"Explain."
Will hangs his head and sighs in frustration. "There's too much to explain, especially in this temperature."
My arms start to shake to prove his point but I cross them to stop. "I have all night, Will."
The tension seemed to get thicker as the silence continued. My patience dwindled ever so steadily. "Words can't speak for themselves, you know. Talk."
After about thirty seconds, he finally says, "It's complicated."
"You're making excuses now?", I wave my arms angrily. "I'm a part of your friend group, aren't I? Why can't I know what's going on?"
"It's not that I don't want you to know", he says. "I just wish there was another way to fix everything without having you involved."
That hit home, hard. My chest began to swell in rage. "So now I mean nothing to you?!"
Finally, Will looks at me with a scared gaze. "That's not what I-".
"Don't say it. I know exactly what you meant." If I were a werewolf, his head would be at my feet. "You're not telling me anything because you're gone all the time and not brave enough to speak up."
Now it's his turn to get mad. "Do you even realize what you're saying?"
"I do." I cross my arms again. My cap was inside so I'm not able to keep my head warm. The thought of my head exposed suddenly made me feel self-conscious, but I didn't want it to show. Showing weakness will only lead to a much harder fight, which I don't need right now.
His arms drop to his sides and he looks disgusted. Just then, a weird pinkish-red haze appears on his silhouette. Can he see it? Or only me?
"I can't tell you everything because it's too dangerous, but there are some things that you need to be aware of." He sticks his hand into his pocket and pulls out a necklace, a shiny red gem at the base. "Though it's hard to put everything into words. I need you to come with me."
"Go with you? What about Ryan and Rhys?", I ask, pointing to the door. He waves it off. "Don't worry about it. We won't be gone long. Besides, they already knew I was going to do this."
The pinkish hue around him changes to a light orange. My mind registers it as nervousness. Weird.
"And... where are we going exactly?", I breathe. The air escapes me in a cloud. I notice his foot tap impatiently.
"Somewhere that'll explain better than I can.", he says, holding out his hand. I look at it in suspicion. "That's not gonna make me go with you. I feel like we should-".
Just then, the door burst open and Ryan ran out, panting, tears streaming down his face.
Will and I stare at him. "What's wrong?", Will says desperately. Ryan looks up at him and seems to have trouble putting the words together.
"It... it's Razz", he finally says. "Something's wrong with him."
