Chapter One -The Letter

Ice lined the floor as I started to think. Why can't I be normal like Anna? My parents always wanted to know me as their perfect little girl, but there was something... different about me. When I was born it was discovered that I could control ice and snow. Often now it randomly comes depending on my mood. It's my curse. My parents didn't always make me stay in my room until the incident.

The ice grew thicker with that one thought, so I shoved it away. Now they tell me to 'Conceal, don't feel. Don't let it show.' They gave me gloves to contain the ice, but I always take them off when they're gone because no one was there for me to hurt. I've spent the past five years, practically all alone in my room. It was, so hard listening to Anna begging for me to come out. I never came out, because I was afraid of hurting her.

Unlike me she was normal. Unlike me she deserves to be loved. For a second, a painful question awoke in my mind. What if-, but before I could finish that thought my parents opened my bedroom door.

"Sweetie a school has just offered you an acceptance letter!" My Mom said with a sparkle to her eyes. "We think they may be able to help you. Open it!"

The letter had a seal of four animals in a crest. A lion in the top left corner, a snake in the top right corner, an eagle in the bottom right corner, and a badger in the bottom left corner. There was a big H in the middle of it all. It was addressed to me, and even had the exact room I was in written down. I opened it concerned of what it might be contained in the letter.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Dear Ms. Arendelle,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

I fished out another page filled with a list. It said;

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

UNIFORM
First-years will require:
1. Three sets of plain work robes (black)
2. One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
3. One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide, or similar)
4. One winter cloak (black, with silver fastening)
Please note that all pupil's cloths should carry name tags.

Students may also bring pets such as cats, chameleons, owls, toads, frogs, and/or dogs. Students should also note that brooms are aloud with parents' permission.

My parents looked at me expectantly as my dad asked me. " What do you say to this Elsie?"

I didn't know what to say. They seemed to be silently begging me to accept it. I knew that this would make them stop looking at me as if I was a disappointment. I took a deep before responding, with the two words that could change my life for better, or worse.

"I'll go"
