Chapter Twenty -Nighttime Wanderings

I quietly closed the painting behind me, and headed off to the Hospital Wing. Right turn, right turn, straight forward, left turn. The halls were dizzying as I raced passed them. Suddenly I heard footsteps. I quickly dropped to the floor and crawled under a table to hide. Their footsteps kept getting louder and louder until they were right in front of me. They stopped and took something out of their pocket before continuing. As they left there was this dragging noise coming from them. I quickly looked to see long golden hair streaming behind them.

"Punzie?" I whispered.

"Merida!" She whisper-yelled at me, and I quickly crawled out of my hiding spot.

"Come on, lets go!" I replied to her.

We quickly headed down the halls. We were right at the Hospital Wing when a we heard two sets of feet. There was nowhere to hide now though. We were busted. I tried to hide in the shadows and Punzie tried underneath a chair when the people approached us.

"Wow you two were really loud! Don't know how you weren't caught before us, right Hiccup?" The voice laughed.

"Jack?" Punzie asked quietly.

"Of course! Now are you going to go in, or do we have to shove you?" Jack teased.

I opened the door and shoved Jack in. Punzie let out a giggle before we followed him. We saw Elsa sleeping on the bed closest to Valka's office. She looked sound asleep. There was this odd lump under the covers.

"What's this?" I asked no one in particular and poked the lump.

"Hey!" A muffled squeak was heard. Curious I pulled the covers off and a saw a small strawberry-blonde headed girl stick her tongue at me.

"Punzie!" Anna shrieked and went to hug her cousin.

"Shhhh! Anna we're not supposed to be here! Keep the noise down!" Jack whisper-screamed at her.

Elsa moaned and rolled over. She started panting for breath, and we freaked out. We were about to call for Valka, but Annna interrupted us first.

"She's having a nightmare, no need to get worked up." She whispered.

"It looks pretty bad." Hiccup pointed out.

"Maybe." I shrugged.

We watched she started twisting and turning. Suddenly she laid still. Elsa started crying, and they soon turned into sobs. I really wanted to jerk her awake, but Anna was holding me back.

Suddenly Elsa jerked up and screamed. "ANNA!!!"

We all jumped a step back when we heard her shout. Elsa looked at us for a second trying to see if we were actually there.

"Jack, Rapunzel, Merida, Hiccup! What are you guys doing here? You're going to get in trouble!" She hissed quietly.

I was about to explain, when Valka burst into the room.

"Elsa! Are you all right?" The nurse asked our friend.

"I'm fine! It was just a nightmare." Elsa explained.

"Hiccup! What are you doing here, you're supposed to be sleeping!" Valka scolded.

"Sorry mom, we wanted to make sure are friend was okay!" Hiccup answered.

"Fine, but you best be going back now! The Professors might come soon. No off with ya, and go get some sleep! Valka insisted.

"Fine." We all mumbled, and left.

We all split up after a few turns. That's when I heard footsteps. Crap. I quickly went under another table before they could see me. I silently urged for them to walk past me. They only had one more step to be out of range, but then they stopped. I silently cursed them when they started to talk.

"Do you think the headmistress was right about not warning the students about him?" A chirpy female voice asked the other person.

"I don't know mate. But maybe I can teach them more powerful spells. Tha' might prepare them for an attack." A male with an Australian accent answered her.

"That's probably a good idea Easter, but it's Pitch Black. The students won't stand a chance against him." The female replied

"Yeah we should probably get moving." The male named Easter ordered.

I heard their footsteps fade into the distance and I slipped out from under the table. I quickly walked back to the entrance to the common rooms, and said the password to the painting which was Midnight. I quietly slipped into my bed making sure my roommates wouldn't here me. But when I fell asleep only one thing was on my mind. I had a secret to tell my friends.
