~Alice's P.O.V~
I woke up the next morning happy. To be honest, I never really smile in the morning before going to school. but seriously, it takes me a long time to make a new friend, and Luke was like an exception! Steph and I became best friends when we were in Grade 1, so making friends wasn't hard back then.
Anyway, Chris realised my happiness and decided to not shut up about it.
"Hey Al, why so happy?" He asked
"Why are you asking? Is it illegal to smile in the morning?"
"Well.. It's kinda weird when YOU do it.. in the morning!" He teased.
"Oh, shut up! You're just jelly because I'm happy today" I chuckled.
"Serously now, why are you happy?" He said with a serious face.
"You know Luke? Well, me and him are friends now" I smiled.
"Luke?! The Luke?! The new guy?? The one you hated so much and found annoying on the first day of school? THIS Luke? How?!"
"Yes.. This Luke.." I gave him a weird look and continued.
"Well, we kinda had a conversation in class, and I found him nice so we became friends. I don't even know why it's such a big deal.."
"Oh, nothing.. It's just that it takes you a LOT of time to make new friends yet he became one of them in a few days of talking.." He explained.
I rolled my eyes and decided to not answer him anymore. We said our 'goodbye's to our parents then Chris drove us to school.
I got out of the car quickly and entered the school and made my way to my locker. Steph was waiting for me there, she smiled once she saw me, we hugged each other, then she looked so shocked and confused. I gave her a 'what-is-it?' look.
"It's not Friday, nor the last day of school.." She said.
"Yeah, I know..?"
"Then why are you happy? It must be something serious! Tell me!" She started jumping.
"Oh, it's nothing, and seriously, why does everyone thinks it's a miracle when they see me smiling in the morning, I mean, c'mon!" I replied.
She giggled then she told me she had to do something and she'll come back in a few minutes. I got my books. I heard someone clearing his throat, then he closed my locker, I jumped a little bit and looked at the person and it was Luke. He was trying to hold back his laughter. I glared at him, but I couldn't help but chuckle a little bit.
"How is my friend?" He asked.
"She was good until a crazy guy decided to close her locker in her face." I fake pouted.
"Aww.. Will she be okay if I give her one of my lovely hugs?" He teased.
"She'll think about it.." I pretended to start thinking hard when Luke suddenly hugged me out of nowhere.
And of course Steph came back at this moment. Her eyes went wide, she looked very surprized. I broke the hug instantly.
"Woww Al, you sure hate Luke so much.." She said, sarcasm in her voice.
Luke looked at me raising an eyebrow.
"Well.. How do I tell you this.. Yeah, we're friends now." I smiled nervously and took a glance at Luke to make sure he wasn't mad at the fact that she mentioned that I "used" to not like him, and looks like he wasn't. Steph gave me 'Are-you-serious?' look. I nodded and explained to her how we became friends.
To be honest, I'm 100% sure that Steph doesn't mind adding Luke to my 'friends' list' since we both know she melts when she sees him, just like every other girl in school.
Each one of us headed to his class, and to my luck Steph was in the same one as me. We had a small chat before the class starts.
"So, you made a new friend, huh? And not any guy. He's one of the hottest guy in school! You're one of the luckiest girls in the world." Stephany said.
"Steph, he's just a normal guy who comes to this normal school and does normal things. I don't even know why you girls act like this when he's around." I told her.
"Are you crazy, girl?! A lot of girls here would die to be in your place. You probably didn't realise this, but all the girls were glaring at you back there because he hugged you. Do you know why? Because they're jealous!" She explained.
We talked about random things before the bell rang annoucing the start of the class. Steph shut up immediatly, she knows very well that I don't like it when I don't pay attention to the teacher, and that I would make a big deal of it if someone distracts me.
The class ended quickly -thank god!- and Stephany and I went to our lockers. I got my books and headed to my next class, Math. To my surprise, Steph and Luke were sitting next to each other. Well, looks like Math is my best subject this year. I gave them a small wave then sat behind them. The class started, I got my notebook out and focused on the lesson.
Luke kept whispering things to me, thank god Steph told him that I hate being distracted during class. When the bell rang, I got out of the classroom and I felt someone elbowing my arm slightly, it was Luke.
"So, you have an 'inner nerd', huh?" He smirked.
"No, I just like knowing all the informations, because if I do, homeworks will be easier and I'll finish them earlier." I explained.
"Woww, so everything is organized in there." He pointed at my brain.
I nodded and went to the cafeteria together. We found Steph already sitting, she waved for us to come and we did. We talked about random things and we got to know Luke a little bit better.
The time passed quickly. We exchanged 'goodbye's and each one of us headed to his own next class.
