~Alice's P.O.V~

Unlike other days, I have never woken up with a scowl on my face before. Especially not when it's the last day of the year. I was mad and confused. It's been three days since that phone call and not a small sign from him.

I knew a High School relationship wouldn't last so long. Everybody knew that. But who knew one would last for only three days? The reasons, that I believed, of a break up after a High School relationship, were attending different colleges or finding out that the relationship wasn't right.

Luke, on the other hand, proved me wrong and added a new reason to the list. Cheating. What kind of boyfriends cheats on his girl after three days of being together?!

The thought of it made me feel stupid. I shouldn't have gotten my hopes so up... I took the pillow and covered my face with it, then let out a scream. I wanted to go to his house, tell him how much of a liar he is, yell at him, or even punch him! But I couldn't bring myself to do that, because I'll have to deal with his dumb face and pathetic speech. I wanted to forget about it, and not ruin the special day for my family, so I put on a fake smile and walked out of the room. Confetti was suddenly thrown and a cheer was heard.

"Happy last day of this year!" Chris was jumping excitedly.

"Yayy." I smiled.

"Aren't you happy? Tomorrow is the New Year! Come on, you know what to do!" He started doing our dance's moves.

"Chris, I'm tired. Later." I muttered and didn't wait for him to reply. I went to the bathroom and closed the door.

I've been trying to stay away from Chris and my parents the past three days, especially Chris. If he ever finds out what happened, he'll be at Luke's house in a matter of seconds, and the latter would be knocked out after a few seconds of the arrival of Chris to his house. It was better this way.

I sighed and stood in front of the mirror, then washed my face and brushed my teeth. A knock made me stop.

"Alice, are you still in there?" It was Chris.

"Yeah, I'll be right out. I wa-." I was interrupted.

"I need to talk to you when you're out." I opened the door and gave him a crooked smile.

"What's wrong?" He asked with a stern voice.

"Noth-"

"Don't even try to deny. I'm your big brother and we're so close that I can read you like a girl reading her magazine."

"Chris, nothing is wrong." I said.

"You better tell me what's wrong. I'm trying to help you here."

"I don't need your help when there's nothing wrong!" I snarled.

"Yes, there is! Why don't you just tell me?! You know you can trust me!" He snapped.

I couldn't take it anymore. I looked at his angry face. I let out a 'huff' then walked away to my room and slammed the door shut.

"Alice, open the goddamn door!" He called from the other side.

"No! Just go away!" I hissed.

"What happened?! Just say it!"

And that's when I blurted out the most ridiculous thing on earth. The most pathetic excuse that could exist.

"I think I'm gonna fail the Math and Chemistry exams."

There was silence for a minute. I actually thought he left. I opened the door slowly and frowned when I saw him squatting down shaking. He looked up at me, his face red from laughing hard.
