WHEN BREATH BECOMES AIR

A WEDDING PROM (PART 1)

"You really think you should go?" Theo asked one more time.
"Look, the doctors said I was well off to go and you know what, i think you are getting a little too worried." I told him.
"I know I am getting a little too worried ,  but I can't risk to lose you, and the doctors  warned you to take rest and if something feels wrong then go straight to the hospital." He says.

"Yeah I know, but that happens IF SOMETHING  GOES WRONG. Hey do you think this tux will do it?" I asked him as Lewis  took out a sleek black tux with a white bow tie.

"This is amazing but .... it's  you dad's, I can't wear it" he said.

"Look Theo, if my dad was here, he too have wanted you to wear his wedding tux" I said and his eyes widened in suprise.

"Your dad's wedding tux?" he asked

"Yeah my dad's wedding tux"I repeated . 

"I am not going to wear it" he said shaking his head.

"So what the hell would you wear? A trashcan ???" I said and started to cough, oh god this guy is stressing me out.

"Lilli, are you fine ? I will wear it okay, don't give yourself too much stress", he said as his fore head rested on mine, "I am sorry for stressing you out".

"It's okay" I said drinking the water  that Lewis  handed me.

"What are you going to wear?" He asked.

"It's a suprise,now go off, get ready, I have called Anna here so that she could come and help me and herself out." I said and he pouted.

"Do I have to go, if you wish I could dress you up" he said and Lewis coughed.

"I am at the office room , if you need anything just press the button" Lewis said and I nodded.

"Hey hi" in came Anna waving her hand a little, she had purse in her right hand but her dress was no where to be seen.

"Hi" I said and Theo gave her a light wave.

"Now go off with this suit and get ready" I said and sussed him away.

"I would pick you up at 7 pm" he told me and I nodded.

He kissed my forehead and whispered,' I love you'

I adored him for a minute before saying  " I love you more"

"Bye" he said 

"Bye" I replied and he disappeared .

"So.... what are you going to wear??? I asked.

"I am not going to prom, I only came to help you out" she said.

"What!? Why!?" I asked.

"Seb ditched me to go with some blonde" she said and shrugged. I wish I could give her a tight hug.

"Look you are going even if it meats me to ditch Theo and come with you" I said and she let out a sigh.

"I would come but I have no dress" she admitted and a smile was plastered on my face.

"You know, I was going to wear my mom's wedding dress on my prom, I promised her that I, on my wedding  would wear it, but since I no longer can live upto to see my wedding ,  I am going to wear it now and that's why I insisted Theo to wear my dad's  wedding tux . "I told her.

"That's great" Anna exclaimed." Can I see it" and I nodded pointing in the direction  of my bed where the dress rested wrapped in a white silk.(see the dress above)

"My mom had an extra bridesmaids dress, and it was kept in her closet" I told her.

"What !  No, I don't think I could wear it" she said.
