~3 months later~
Ryder's P.O.V
I know i had tolled Lexi in that letter that i was going to be long gone but the truth is I only moved about 15 minutes out of town. I still had business to take care of with Harry and i couldn't exactly leave even if i wanted to. My phone ringing cut off all my thoughts, "Hello" I answered frustratingly. "Well aren't you just a happy camper" Judd's voice chuckled through the receiver. "Get to the point Judd" I said rolling my eyes even though i knew he couldn't see me. "It's Lexi, I'm worried about her" he sighed, "Is she okay" I asked my voice laced with panic. "It's just shes changed man." he exhaled deeply. "Changed how?" i asked unsure as to what he meant. "She barely shows up to class, and when she does she sits in the back not paying attention. I over heard one of our teachers say she failing 2 classes. Ryder that's 2 out of 4 for this semester. Her styles changed now, she doesn't just wear T-shirts and jeans anymore, she wears Leggings and shit like that. Not to mention shes been hanging out with that Brooks kid." My breath hitched "what do you mean by hang out? like going out?" i asked, even though i told her to move on I secretly didn't want her to. "I don't know man but right now hes the least of her problems. I know you said that you leaving was going to help her but bro its like shes turned into the girl version of you"Judd uttered. "That could end up being a good thing, does she at least look happy?" i asked hopefully, maybe something good did come out of this." She's not sad anymore" He stated. "What am i supposed to do Judd? if i come back who knows what Harry would do to her, I cant have that on my shoulders no matter how much she changes." I declared. "I got to go I see Lexi" Judd said hanging up after.
2 YEARS LATER~
Lexi's P.O.V
2 god damn years since that asshole left me, and a lot of shit went down in those 2 years. I ended up getting really close to Judd and Kye, but i got extremely close to Brooks. I also ended up failing grade 10, after that i didn't see a point in going to school anymore, it just so happened that Brooks failed as well. I made the drastic decision to move to New York, which Brooks decided he wanted to tag along. Shortly after we moved there Brooks asked me to become his girlfriend which i was a little hesitant on but soon came to the conclusion that i needed to move on with my life and i said yes. We were able to find an affordable apartment and decent paying jobs about a week after moving. You see the old Lexi wouldn't have failed grade 10 and she wouldn't have moved to New York but you see that's the thing, I am not the old Lexi.
I slowly drug myself out of bed careful not to awake Brooks who had just gotten home from his day job. I made my way to the bathroom and took a look at my appearance. My hair was much longer than it was two years ago, my brown eyes were a lot duller, and i had noticeable bags under my eyes from lack of sleep. I tied my hair into a pony tail and put some concealer under my eyes, before changing into my work clothes. 10 minutes later i was out of our apartment building and making my way to the bar down the street. I worked night shift there, but i have also been working part of the day shift because we were low on money. I opened the door to the bar, the smell of cigarette and alcohol hitting me right away. I was greeted by a warm smile as my coworker/ best Friend Audrey, she was seriously gorgeous, She had long Ombre hair that she managed to find the time to curl everyday, She has beautiful hazel eyes and a perfect smile. She pulled me in for a hug like she did every night, i winced slightly from the pain on my shoulder which she noticed. "Baby did it happen again" Audrey asked questioned. I deeply sighed before speaking" We've been tight on money and hes been drinking again" Audrey closed her eyes and exhaled loudly." Lexi you need to get out of that situation, I tolled you that you can come stay with me." I followed Audrey behind the bar before the night rush came in. "I cant just leave him" I huffed slightly annoyed because we have this conversation almost every night. "Lexi he beats you" Audrey groaned. "Can i get some help over here" someone called on my side of the bar. "Were talking about this later" Audrey called as i walk over to the guy. Around 12:30 most of the rush had left, so i was able to go out for a smoke brake. I walked out the exit a cigarette in my finger tips, I lit it and took a puff before exhaling. The cigarette danced in my fingertips as i thought about how shitty my life has turned out. I am 19 years old and working in a bar, such a grea- my thoughts were cut off as i saw a guy entering the bar. The same guy who gave me the ring that is tightly on my finger. "Lexi brakes over" My boss screeched at me causing Ryder to look in my direction, I quickly turned around and walked through the door. I quickly made my way towards the bar and started taking peoples orders attempting to get my mind off of Ryder. Out of all the bars in New York he had to pick this one? I don't even think hes of age yet, he's only like 20. "Hellooo" Someone beside me called, "sorry can i help you" i asked turning towards them only to regret it immediately. "Hey Lex" Ryder said giving me a slight smile
