When the sun rose the next morning, Cyrus had a headache. He had spent the entire night crying, whether Buffy knew about it or not. It was either them laying on Cyrus' bed with Buffy listening to his sobbing rants, or Cyrus with tears silently streaming down his face while they watched a movie.
Buffy woke up shortly after Cyrus did to the sun streaming in from the window while he was in the bathroom. She climbed back onto his bed, they both of them had slept there, after grabbing her phone and checking the time.
When Cyrus came out of the bathroom, Buffy looked up at him and said, "Good morning."
He gave her a tired smile as she got up and went to use the bathroom. There was a text on his phone from his mother saying when he was getting picked up and a text from Jonah from the night before, saying, "Hey dude what's up?" That he continued to ignore.
They ate waffles for breakfast and Buffy left soon afterwards. They hadn't talked much the whole morning, Cyrus' body too tired from the night before to do anything. His father walked into Cyrus' room to find Cyrus laying on his bed, staring at the floor. He paused for a moment before saying, "Hey, bud. It's time to go."
Cyrus didn't look at him as he slid off the bed. He walked through his bedroom door without looking at his father and went quickly down the stairs to put on his shoes. Before he went out the door, his father called from the top of the stairs, "Bye," in a mad tone.
Cyrus ignored him and slipped out the door and into the backseat of his mother's car. She turned to him as he buckled his seatbelt and flashed her creepy smile to him. "Hi honey," she said to him.
He looked up at her, shocked, and said, "Hi."
