Three days had passed with report of Cyrus going missing and the city was buzzing with news of it. Everyone was alert and looking and he was still nowhere to be found. The only person who actually knew his location, was Jonah.

Buffy moped around her house as the weekend approached, continuing to text Cyrus' phone, but receiving no answer in response.

Her mother watched her pace around the kitchen while she waited for the microwave to stop, sit in front of the tv with the news station on and await new news, and disappear quickly to her bedroom. She knew that nothing would get her daughter smiling again except for seeing Cyrus on their doorstep. So Buffy sat on her bed and tried to distract herself with books or movies, but her mind kept wandering back to Cyrus.

She'd touch her phone to text him to make plans, but realize that he wouldn't respond. She'd laugh about something and turn to see that he wasn't laughing with her.

As time progressed and her Saturday started to leave her, her mind started to wander to Jonah. She realized that he was also probably sitting on his own bed mourning the loss of Cyrus-for she knew that Jonah had liked him all along.

In a rush of energy to see someone, Buffy leapt off her bed and went out her door, on her way to Jonah's house.

She had walked home with Jonah and Andi after school sometimes and saw Jonah disappear into his house, and in their small city it wasn't hard to find. The sun was hiding behind dark clouds, shining darkness down on Buffy as she went up his porch steps and knocked on the door.

Jonah's mom answered and smiled weakly at Buffy. "Hi, I'm Buffy. I wanted to talk to Jonah."

"Are you a friend of his?" His mom asked.

"Kind of. He's friends with Andi and Cyrus, who are my best friends."

Her eyes glistened with sorrow and her smile slightly altered. "You're Cyrus' friend?"

Buffy smiled slightly and nodded, to which, Jonah's mom opened the door wider and beckoned for Buffy to go in. "I'm so sorry," She whispered in Buffy's ear as Buffy passed. She pointed down the hallway to their left and said to her, "His room is that door at the end of the hall."

She disappeared back into the kitchen and Buffy walked down the dark hallway to Jonah's white door and opened it to see inside.

Jonah thought he was lucky and Cyrus would never be found in his room because his parents never go into his room, but he found that he was mistaken once Buffy opened the door and saw the two boys talking on Jonah's bed.

Her hand quickly flew to her mouth to cover it, and she felt a mix of relief and anger wash over her as tears formed in her eyes. "Cyrus..." she whispered before Jonah jumped off his bed and over to the door, pulling her in and closing out behind her.

Buffy went right over to where Cyrus was sitting on the bed and drew him into a big hug. She started rambling, lecturing him about all of the worry he had caused for her before she turned to Jonah. "You had him here this whole time?" She said, trying not to yell.

Jonah tried not to look at her but her angry glare had captured his gaze and he couldn't look away. Cyrus said from behind her, "It's not his fault, I made him not tell anyone."

She turned to look at him very coldly. "Why not?"

Now Cyrus was caught in her glare, but he knew not to look into her stare. He looked down at his hands and said, "I don't want to go back to my mother's house."

"You don't have to!"

"Yes I do!" Cyrus' head shot up and he looked at her with his own cold stare. "I'll have to eventually."

Buffy shoved her way out of Jonah's room and made her way to leave the house. She threw an excuse at Jonah's mom, saying that he wasn't up to do anything and she quickly ran down the steps and stood at the street corner. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and called the police.
